One more note, I have a Millonzi grapple and local welding shop pallet forks that fit my Deere QA. Well they were bought to fit a 200 loader, but what do you know, they still fit when I moved up to a 300. JC

I just got prices from a dealer here in CT. I think the total works out pretty close to list price. They seem to take from some numbers and add to other numbers.

Buy an American brand tractor, it will make you feel better. Here in PA when there are two quality products, one is American, the other is from overseas, we buy American.

Though Deere may be an American company, both tractors are made in Japan.

Engines are Japanese and some of the parts on the machine are from over seas but how I look at it is John Deere is an american brand it started in the USA it's core headquarters is in the USA and it has an american farming heritage backing it up. even if the machine isn't 100% american parts it's still more american than the others in my book.

IIRC and Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong - the bigger tractors are made in the US, but the 2320 (?most of the compacts/sub compacts as well) is made by Yanmar for John Deere to JD specifications..

My John Deere 2520 came from Georgia.
They are build down there. parts come from all over but thats where they are built.

I was told the JD 100 Series are made on the east coast...VA, or the Carolinas... Their 2007 snow blows was made by another company by thier spec's but that changed to JD in 2008.

to ME a company that is based in Iowa has an american heritage is still the one i'm going to put my money into i'm tired of seeing AG companies go over seas like Case.
This isn't a put down on anyone who buys any other brand this is just me personally.

Can't argue with that...
However, I'd really like to see a breakdown of the location and percentage of total production-sales that the various equipmant manufacturers have around the world.
For example - what percentage of everything that Deere produces and sells throughout the world is actually manufactured in the U.S.A.? That includes equipment, parts, and so forth by affiliated companies: Frontier, Ameriquip, etc, etc.
Economists like to speak of the "multiplier effect". The money that is exchanged in a region thru purchases, payrolls, taxes, spreads outward thru economic strata. Therefore, when a factory is located next door vs across the ocean - the gross monetary benefits are much greater.
So.... from that vantage point - are foreign owned companies providing the same economic benefits for American taxpayers as say; Deere, CAT, etc.?
(Apologies for getting sidetracked - or maybe off in the ditch..)

Geez.....quit fighting boys! Well I went and test drove a 2320 last night. They had some drive and buy event at the dealer. Dealer had Deere Company reps there demonstrating how to remove the deck, loader etc form a 2520. Pretty slick. Anyway. The 2 speed tranny did not effect the speed to bad. You just adjusted the throttle to go faster or slower. Not sure if the Kubotas' 3 speed hydro will be any better. Platform was roomy, controls all in the proper placePrice quote came back as 2320 $11,900
200CX Loader $2500, 62" MMM $2200 and the 647 48" tiller $1900. With tax $1100, the out the door price was $19610. Little high but not too too bad. **** most people could buy a new car for that. I have yet to check out the Kubota B2620 but I might do that this weekend. I'll let you know. Thanks
