Yeah, I'm wondering about the glass. The dealer said never drive with a door open or the stress on the glass will cause it to shatter if you hit a bump. I like the high-back seat idea. Also, I am going to add the buddy seat, surprise the wife;) - what's another $405.00 anyway when you're spending $47K?

The glass is not junk. With my 15' mower on the back - it launched a piece of rebar thru it the first time and a chunk of concrete the second.

I have driven with a door open, but not for very long - going thru a gate, etc.

With Heat and AC, why run with the doors open anyway?

Only additional consideration is upgrade to radial tires. They will give slightly better traction and ride.

The buddy seat is the most popular place on the farm. Ages 7 to 70+.

Yes, I would expect that is true about the buddy seat! I would have never considered giving rides to the little nieces and nephews on an open station. The cab is very roomy compared to others. Some other utility sized tractors we looked at, there was no way you could fit a buddy seat in, especially if there was a floor shuttle shift on the left side of the seat. I considered the radial tires but for $970 difference? I think the bias will work fine. Supposedly it is claimed that the radials will last twice as long. (how?) Anything I own, the tires die of weather cracking before the tread wears out.

It aint no 6430 or anything. The buddy seat folds up nicely, but anything except a small person, you can't get in and out of the cab with them in the seat.

Road time is what seems to wear the tires the most. I suspect I will never go thru a set unless I punch a big hole in the sidewall or something.

I ended up buying brand Z utility. At 10K lbs I always run out of tracton before HP (bias 16.9-30's.) Put iron weights on the rear, feared CC fluid (have an old rusted rim A) & rimguard was still unknown in this area back in '04. Cleaned up the farm without a tractor flat though!!

Rocks seem to cut & wear my tires the most.

Little ones are quick to clip the seat belt, older ones have to be convinced first...

I've never left a kid alone in the cab, temptation is too great, oldsters I go thru the RH door.

Also, no pics but the additional lights on the front and rear - just buy them. I was working tonight and it is a HUGE difference.

Brush guard - buy one even if you dont have a FEL. I was mowing corn fields - kept opening the hood. Getting stuck on the hood latch - a real PITA.
