Not to throw a wrench in the gears but, Have you looked at the 5603? I'd like to hear from someone who has a lot of time in a 5525cab to go test drive one and post some feedback. Just what amenities is it lacking? Would a person be happy with one for the long haul? Is the cab noisier? Etc...

I actually looked at a 5603 in the shop the other day next to my 5525. They look like a very nice tractor. You can get power reverser and it looks like the same cab as on the 5525. ePTO, adjustable links, etc. Just have to look at the other options that aren't available and also if you need the additional HP.

Do the compare on the JD web site. 5603 vs. 5525 vs. 5625.

Looks like the same engine. 5603 has a larger fuel tank.
5603 and 5625 has same HP rating.
5603 has 12 speed power reverse standard and only trans. Sync is stand on the others but you can get the 24 speed.
Hyrdraulics are not as strong o the 5602 as the 25s
I dont get it. The cab is rated at 77db like the 5625, but the 5525 is rated at 85db. That is weird Maybe, some new sound deadner or something.
No air ride seat on the 5603. I don't have it on my 5525, not sure what I am missing.
Looks like 5603 has bias ply tires and 25 have radials.

Overall, I would have to look seriously at a 5603 if I was buying a cab tractor today.

A lot of bang for the buck. More of a "package" tractor from what I understand, not as optionable. One rear remote, no EH hitch available, cabs are virtually identical, but I thought the dash/instrument cluster was taller in the 5603. Previous generation cowl styling. JD can cut production costs by offering one basic configuration. Was quoted approx. same price for a 99 hp 5603 as a 81 hp 5425. It was a tough call between the two, but my wife absolutely had to have those button thingys (her words, or maybe they were mine) on the rear fender.

There is no build it now option on the web, but it showed pics of it with 3 rear remotes.

The interior layout of the 5425 seems nice than the 5603 to me. Like it was build from the ground up. The 5603 feels like, we have a tractor and we have this cab - let's make it work.

Yeah, they're great. It's nice to be able to bump it up/down as needed without moving. Be sure to check out the limitations on the 542MSL if that's the loader you get. Check out the dump angle and make sure it's enough for you (wasn't for me). Here's a link to a post I made about it. Other handy options I have gotten a lot out of: telescoping draft links, 3rd function for the loader, deluxe triple rear SCV's...

Rumor was at the time I had mine switched out that Deere was redesigning it. Maybe that's the redesign? Can you open up your grapple and back rake with it?

I believe so. I will check for sure. I have dumped dirt and it has gone all the way down, no problem. Moving trees, etc.
