I knew that "boom pole" hadn't been put out to pasture just yet /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a most interesting way to say "we got a lot accomplished." /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks good, Jim. Can't wait to see a photo of the shingles all in place...that's always been a high point for me... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I guess I meant to say, yet at the same time we did. What can I say it was getting late. Thanks for catching my blunder - better to make them here then out on the barn. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

That looks familiar. When and if it goes out to pasture save me the bracket on the front, might reuse it someday.

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

That bracket on the front was made by Richard (I think), his Brother-in-Law maybe. When I looked at it, I wondered if Jim really needed that.........then saw what good it was having it out there /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That actually was Richard. He is actually my cousin. Its great having relatives like Richard that you can rely upon when you need help.

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

Actually I was talking to Dad yesterday while I was putting it back together. I don't think I am going to disassemble. It sure has been helpful and you never know when I might use it again. I'll stand it in a corner. If you ever need to use it let me know it'll be here.

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

It has been awhile, but we finally were able to make some progress this weekend. Between the rain on the weekends, Easter, and other committments hadn't worked on it too much. We were able to get all of the shingles on the North side - at least up to the point where we would take a row of tar paper off of the top so that we could put the ridge vent on.

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

Here is a little bit closer shot of the singles.

I have to say thanks to my wife though. While I was at work Friday she cleaned & straightened up our one shed we keep our holiday decorations and the kids keep their toys in. She also tried to mow the grass - she couldn't figure out how to get the loader up though - I had the safety lock on that she didn't know about. While I was working on the garage Saturday she washed the car, truck, and the tractor. Then yesterday while I was at work she straightened my tool shed up that had gotten messed up over the winter from dragging tools out and then just kinda "throwing" them back in because it was getting late. I think I got me a keeper!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

Unfortunately, the other side still looks like this. Maybe over the next couple of weeks. Still trying to decide if I can safe some of the tar paper, I know I'll have to replace some of it, but I don't want to have to replace all of it if I don't have to.
