...There are clearly options... but it may be better if I just sell this one "as-is" and order in one of the later generation machines. It will be a hard pill to swallow either way... but I don't have a great deal of confidence & trust in the one I received.

Roger that Doug!!!

The Tytan looked interesting, didn't see a price for it though.

Wish I'd looked a little harder before getting mine, but my NH dealer brought it over to the house for a demo and it sold itself. And the price was very attractive too.

I'll just have to see how it goes getting replacement parts for mine. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised at the modest cost and ease of fixing mine up... or maybe I'm screwed! One thing is for sure: If I'm going to sell it, best to sell it ASAP "new and unused" or I'm going to take a helluva beating on price.

Why don't you just find some willing fellow, say some upper/lower Michigander, that will take the offending implement off your hands....and use it for parts to keep his machine running. Look at all the grief and torment you will lift from your daily life. The broad smile and warm feeling you will enjoy each day, knowing you donated your chipper to a willing recipient.........

PS: To say my disconnect apparatus was poorly designed [got one of them big yallar things around the chute opening], would be a offense to those people who sometimes poorly engineer something. Just a sorry piece of cr.p!

I picked up my WC-6, ordered from Betst, at the shipping terminal yesterday. For whatever reason it was not bolted to the steel shipping crate and there was some light damage. It doesn't appear to be anything serious. I'm not sure if any parts are missing. It came with a manual but it basically says be careful using it after you assemble it. No pictures or assembly instructions. There isn't much to assemble anyway. I haven't begun assembly yet. I'll post a report and some pics after I get it going...

Dougster / MadDog............I was looking at this chipper on ebay, but now your thread has me second guessing going this way. Are you saying to avoid the Jinma's? I am only about 50 miles from this dealer so could pick it up for $1300 price.

That's the guy I bought mine from. Read this entire thread and you'll see how I managed to pay way too much, end up with the wrong (smaller, older style w/poor design roller drive) machine... and on top of all that it arrived badly damaged. Hence my new nickname: "The Bug"

You have a huge advantage over me if you can actually see it in person and pick out a good one... plus no shipping cost or risks. Obviously, you would never take one as banged up as the one I received. :(

Still, you may want to consider one of the newer, bigger, improved designs... especially if you can find a bargain as good as Jerry found.

Guys

I have followed this thread with great interest as I too am looking for a chipper.

This may not be a good question to ask but as it has been going on for quite some time and I was wondering has anyone actually chipped any brush yet

Sorry about this just had to ask .

And thanks for sharing your trials and tribulation before we all bought one.
