John Deere 300 Industrial hydraulic problems

You are exactly right I definitely need new hoses. I will replace them before I put it to full duty. I'm just trying to prioritize at this point. Is there a benefit to the extra GPM? Does that affect the lift ability?

So I gather so far that I need to set one up for closed center, 2 or 3 spool and the regenerative feature is for more speed but less power?

What is float and power beyond?

Float gives you the option to have the loader float along the ground instead of staying where you put it. It's useful when leveling and back dragging. Pb or power beyond is mainly used in open center hyd systems to pass the flow to other valves or accessories. Not really needed in the cc system. I woild also reccomend a restrictor for the retracting side of the loader. Otherwise they have a tendency to drop like a rock if you don't/can't feather enough.

Mine comes down like a ton of bricks. That would make it much more manageable.

That's a great item there! Do I need to be concerned with the GPM at all on any of this stuff as long as its over 8GPM?

I'll tell you the 8 or so gpm published on tractordata is for the charge pump, not the main pump. The main pump is actually in the teens to 20s on gpm. But you can get away with the lower flow with the closed center hydraulics.

Just do a timed flow into a 5 gal bucket. Using the implement pump .

Fill in 60 sec = 5 GPM

30 sec = 10 GPM

15 sec = 15 GPM = 1 gal per sec.

7.5 sec = 20 GPM

Charge pumps are usually about 10% of main flow.

The back and forth steering trick worked. Started 3 times in a row!

I didn't find a metal tag on the pump but there are #s on the front.

The casting # R42633 doesn't show up in the 300 parts catalog. Here's the destroking screw(parts key #6) that will fit a pump with no serial number tag. AR33249 which now subs to the following part #s

I wish I knew more about these things. All I can do is take photos and let you tell me until I learn about it. I appreciate the patience you guys are showing a newbee. I used to rebuild 94-96 Impala SS's and was on a forum for years. The amount of knowledge that gets passed down is amazing. Just wanted to say Thanks!

I'll drop a photo in a minute.

I still have my 96 Impala SS

I had a 95 with a 6 speed conversion. BBHP#7. I used to road race it at the Nationals each year. Miss it a bunch but just got tired of working on Lt-1's. Darn things are so finicky. I lost 3 bottom ends over the years so sold it all and am moving on.
