I just bought one of the versa cut bars last week and got it on Thursday. It's a nice bar at a good price. I rebuilt an old Echo 590 and it needed a new bar among other things.Got it all tuned this weekend and it's cutting like a beast. Still need to mod the muffler but the muffler screws are stripped so I am going to have to cut it off and replace it.

I will buy one of the steel handles for my 4910 and see how well it feels. Thanks!

I took the one off my 501 and put on my 490 to test my theory. I didnt feel the vibration through top handle anymore.

The top av fastener on 501 handle is shorter then one used on the thick plastic handle. 3rd one up on right side the small one.

Just feels so much better then cheap plastic too.

Same for a 620 handle for the 590. Lot of guys changing them over.

So I need to order a different size screw to make it work or did you just cut down the old one?

I pulled them both today.

The short 501 wont work in plastic handle due to length. But the 4910 490 longer one goes in but didnt try and tighten with metal handle. Just take a little off IMO or try and see if works without removing.

Get rid of that vibrating cheap plastic feel on the 3rd saw soon enough.

xyz123, do you have a recommendation for a vacuum block adapter to check leakdown and pressure on a Stihl 024AV? And a budget friendly vacuum/pressure gauge/pump?

Several levels. Cheaper to better one. 8500 the better kit 80ish. Then cheaper MV one sold at HF like 40-50

Can just use inner tube with carb and muffler for budget block off and make air go through a sparkplug hole adapter.

@JeepHead picked up 5 more sets I do like oem.

My good local hardware has about anything.

Went and picked me 5 extra fasteners for the top av’s on these things.
They keep getting impossible to get out. 2 out of 3 now.
🤦‍♂️
😂

I've stripped hex 2 out of 3 now. 🤦‍♂️

Yeah I am dealing with that one inside the muffler on the 590. The problem is since it's inside the round tube that you find on these mufflers, I can't get an extractor in there to get it out. I have looked for an extra long extractor with no luck (I haven't spent a ton of time looking). I hate to cut the muffler cover off but I will.

Left hand drill bit reach? Prob wont work but never know.

Long ext dont think I ever saw.

Ext would not even grab on these small ones I had to use socket ext over top of head.

Haven't considered a left hand drill bit but that's not a bad idea.

Guy in my group might trade me a new 4910 for my 1986 61 I dont use. I dont collect so if he decides to I am doing it.

Same guy traded me the saws for the jonsered 670 champ I had already.

Then I will order another metal handle for 501 for it.

I had to go find the ad I posted this week.

Will trade for a smaller saw or newer saw or sale out right. Husqvarna 61. My last oldie I dont use. 1986 one owner before me.
Piston had a slight scuff. I put a used one in I got from Corey to use. Piston has fine scratches on it you cant feel. Cylinder cleaned up easy as it was very slight.
I have drilled inner baffle and opened the outer exit by pushing the restriction in to have full exit.
The black on/off switch didnt work so was updated.
Clutch was updated.
Didn’t have to do anything to this saw really besides cleaning it and above.
Didn’t touch carb, seals etc.
Trade for? or $350 shipped mainland US only PHO. Unless other shipping is worked out for out of mainland. Location Ohio
Paypal Friends Family way or USPS money order. Local pick up if wanted.
150psi after running at setting for 4 hrs.
Video in posted in here too.

He has first crack and sound like he is going to trade.

He bought a 501 and 4910 and going to trade me 4910 it sounds like. So will be buying another metal handle set up.

You can get a brand new 4910 for under $400. The Home Depot by me still has 11 on the shelf....

Now if this is finalized. Then a Shin 492 some day. Just because.

Then maybe get Ethan to port one. I ran one of his with 3/8 7T and reminded of the NE 346 ported.
