Another load of parts came in. Only 1 more part in route, if I guessed right in my mind parts needed.

I am looking forward to seeing your comparison between a real 2511 and a clone. I love my 2511 with the Egan pipe, it's a flippin mouse that thinks it's a grizzly bear.

IMO with that Egan pipe on there alone, which is better then some of the ported muffer modded ones I have seen the dyno runs on.

It shouldnt be a contest. Closed port OEM too. Now if it had a stock muffler that is clogged up it maybe closer. Just because the open port clones have a open muffler with tiny pipe.

OEM has that 12" narrow kerf 325 043. Clone I got 1/4" mini micro 043
So should be good clean smooth pruning cuts I bet with 325 too.

Snow over ice here still so nothing happening.

Echo 2511 rear handle PHO weight dry 2511PN

Echo 2511 rear handle PHO weight both tanks full

Echo 2511 rear handle both tanks full. 12" 325 043 narrow kerf chain weight as used

Egan pipe was already installed for these weights.

Finally got rid of the cheap plastic feeling vibrating handle. Went ahead and put the rubber coated rear piece too.

That echo 490 used.

Put new 501 set on.

On 490 all fasteners needed to be cut shorter.

Plastic fasteners longer due to plastic.

If the open port clone had the 325 043 or the 3/8LP 050 set up with Egan pipe I think it would be real close.
I run the 1/4" 043 mini micro for smooth pruning cuts. Watching the sides of cuts the 325 043 narrow kerf is going to do this too.
Not all chattering like 3/8LP does.

Plus gave me a chance to cut some apple wood for the smoker.

I also cut on the bigger wood their setting on too.

Guy I traded 4910 to said 4910 fastener same length as 501 used for handle.

So didn’t need shorten like 490 did.

Thanks! I will probably order one of these soon.
The black rear grip on 4910 is black plastic like on all saws I have ever known.

But the 501 offers rubber coated over metal there if you notice any vibrations there too.

Project packrat 346 tester for aftermarket topends. Just for kicks.

I decided not to clean up the ports or beveling. As I wanted to se what joe homeowner would try by him self.
44.3 warhawk that also looks just like Dukes one he offers.

She lives. Thats a start anyways.

Packrat.
There must be differences in brake handles. Going to have to open the slot on left side in different area.

Oh forgot to get a air filter. 🤦‍♂️🤣😎✌️

Made around 10 cuts and impressed with stock 44.3 aftermarket cylinder.

Pulled carb for a rebuild kit afterwards.
Wish had done it while saw was apart or it's tank vent acting up.

@xyz123 what would a reasonable compression number be for a Stihl 024?

I was checking compression on my Dad's old 024AV. I checked three times. It was consistent at 135psi. No choke, throttle wide open, pulled it over till pressure stopped going up.

Never checked a 024 to even know.

So just a WAG. I would think anywhere from 130-150 would be normal on a used over the years 024.

4910 I traded to guy. Told him about better 501 set up handles. = Was out giving my 4910 a bit of a workout in the wood pile today.

Swapped back to the plastic handle to see if there really was a big difference in felt vibration between it and the alloy grab handle.

Running them back to back I'll tell you there's easily less vibration with the alloy handle! Great little saw for sure!

Just to show all aftermarket stuff isn’t the same sometimes. Cover buckle.

I had grabbed some parts from HL and noticed how off the orange clamp was for project packrat. Didn’t care because it was that saw. They are way way off. Front left on saw.

Just got a order from Jes and Scott at bluesaws. Look how close their ones are to oem orange compared to that way off ones HL sells.

Just so you know if doing a nicer husky.

Only like 2 bucks a piece instead of 10 oem.

Packrat made from several different saws and tester for aftermarket topends.

Have 2 aftermarket carb kits In route and
I also have oem kit ordered.

So I dug in my kits today and found a new CTS aftermarket kit and so far passed testing.

Was hoping just carb acting up.

That 44.3 afm at end of first tank starting 2.
