Sorry, not the best picture. I was in town picking up a hydraulic hose for the tractor and saw, those two saws, up on the wall. Sorry no info on them, i just happened to notice them as i was leaving and wanted to get back and fix the tractor before the weather turned.

Dont matter to me, use what you want. I want the older saws without the MT and AT. For my uses they work for homeowners, firewood cutters etc.
Why we live in the USA freedom of choice.
I make the same labor rate working on a $100 saw to a $1800 saw. Dont care if German, Sweden, China, Mexico, Japan etc etc.
Heck stihl and husky both have 26-30 million dollar plants in China. Guess where Zama carbs come from
When your saw has that sticker that says assembled with domestic and foreign parts guess where they come from.
What ticks me off is paying OEM prices and it comes in made in China by stihl and husky.

Most complicated items one buys in the US or Canada or EU are gonna have at least some parts made in other countries, including China. China-made products with name brands like Stihl and Husqvarna can be very well-made, as long as they have good quality-control (QA), and defective units are not shipped. Same for Apple, Yamaha, Honda, etc.
Several years ago, I was on a chainsaw kick and bought 5 or 6 Homelite saws from eBay. All were totally functional with good chains and bars too. I think I spent around $120 all together which including shipping. Not sure why an old fart needs in excess of a dozen saws.
I had two of those, when I bought my first saw with a chain brake I gave them away. I wish that I'd kept them now but don't have enough storage space as it is. If I still had them though, I probably would buy a Lewis chainsaw winch to go with them.
On a similar note, about 12 years ago I bought an old Elgin (Sears) air cooled outboard to help a friend out... I didn't even own a boat. I came across that in the back of my shed the other day, after completely forgetting that I even owned it. I believe that is going the same way as my old Homelites...
