Also to help keep fines from getting by the mount area. Oring.

Then small gain by doing this on them. Proven on dyno with stock and then removed.
Really nothing to worry about as my 2 stock 501 I havent done it yet. But did on the ported 490.

I have the oring and did not pull the tube yet.
That's why I was surprised to notice a difference.
Think like 1 more slot and maybe little more open on 501 4910 deflector top.
490 lower.

IMHO still isnt enough. Inside tube pops right out. Open front up.

Echo always hold their saws back by mufflers.

Past saws. All ported but the one 365.

No brand loyalty here, they need to earn my trust in the model.

Pick the best from the makers for use.

Even doing that still today.

If I am bucking, I am usually using a 50CC. I have 4 (I think) 50CC saws. The Stihl 261 & 260, Husqvarna 550, and the Echo 4910 that's got a ported muff and squish adjustment. I ALWAYS grab the 4910 first, it's my go to little power house.

Today being I run 325 on the echo 50cc x3 and 3/8 on the 2x 59cc. Wouldnt be same bar or chains used.

I couldnt count in my head how many 50cc-54cc range saws I even have in smaller size ones.

I grab Echo 501 50cc first since super light 50cc, then if bigger got to the ported 359.

KY Lake lumberjack event info is starting to be let out. Replacing the Murray event I used to love to go to.

Got the small husky cap to fit down in mag case husky 346 351 353 oil tank. But still not fitting right. Need to file between the cap threads to get better fit.

For those guys that have to have the oil cap as flippy too. IMO not worth the juice since husky makes a nicer oil cap then the 2 prongs I hate.

small and big work on 501 echo with no modding.

Just to show the husky small flip cap can be made to work on the magnesium cased 346 353 351.

Same small cap I use on 2511 with no mods and oil cap 501 no mods.

Grind that area down on cap and grind the threads down to clear them too.
Then file between threads also to gasket.

Fill to top to put extra pressure on it putting in cap.

Referencing top handle saws, my Stihl MS192T seems to have a torn boot between the carb and saw ("intake manifold"). Flexing of the handle seems to be the issue is my guess. Curious if anyone knows if Stihl modified the boot to tolerate the flexing?

Common to tear boots on top handles from pulling on them. Not just stihl.
