Just another "tool box"

I would suggest a quart size, "zip lock" freezer bag to hold some first aid supplies. some 4x4 gauze, roller gauze and cravats (triangle bandages) don't take up much space, and may just save someones life. Of course, an amplke supply of band-aids never hurts... :D

I second that. You can buy small soft bagged kits that could easily fit in a cup holder or the tool bag.

OK...curious about sandpaper......

I'm afraid I am overlooking obvious and will be embarrassed when I hear the answer :ashamed:
Because it doesnt take up much space.

LOL, leaves a little room for the ever important ice packs to keep the severed limb cool therefore more viable for re-attachment.

Don't forget the ice packs! A thread and needle wouldn't be a bad idea either.

WOW more great comments.

Cellphone - as we live completely off grid, wife and I usually have our phones on us. The challenge is hearing them when on a machine. Doubt I'd hear a walkie-talkie either. Now if I wire in a speaker system...

Golf cart - would love to have some sort of smallish 4x4 to get around property - but then I'd have to make up another tool kit.

As for the Kioti breaking down - funny thing is I only carried a rubber mallet and a few wrenches behind the seat for years. I don't recall ever using any on the tractor itself, just my implements. Of course, now we are a few years down the road...:tractor: I really expect most of these tools will get used on impromptu projects/repairs and not the actual tractor.

Kitchen sink - now you got me wanting to stay close to my beer tap. :drink:Great reminder on the first aid stuff. When we were building the house I had one of those zippered kits with more items than you'd want to use, but it sure came in handy a few times.

Here is the bag ad. Mine was in the 11/25 HD flyer.

"I can't be trusted with a toolbox, things go in and never come back out."
I have the opposite problem - things come out never to go back in , hence this "solution"

Multimeter, I do have a Fluke, wouldn't leave it in one of the bags, but hopefully remember to take it when I expect to use it.

Sandpaper - think I'll add some emery cloth. I've had to sand pins before. Good complement to the small wire brush.

I think I'll pass on the "surgical" supplies

Over the years I read with considerable interest (and some envy) the great tool box solutions posted as I've never been real happy with the minuscule offering on my Kioti CK30. While it's really nice to have tools for the tractor readily available, I find that I also need some for another project on the property, which ifI didn't plan before hand, means another trip back to the garage/tractor shed. As for tractor tools, I only need for minimal repair or emergency use. I'm finally working on a solution.

Solution came about primarily due to 2 unrelated events: 1 - I got a second tractor, 2 - the current holiday sale at Home Depot. So, here is my start on making up TWO toolkits that will remain with each tractor, behind the seat. These are softside Husky tool bags one set is orange for the Kioti, one set is red for the Case. One advantage to the bag concept is I can pick it up and place in the immediate work area versus trips back and forth.

Items in the bag so far:
6" Long nose pliers
6" Diagonal pliers
6" Linesman pliers
6" Groove joint pliers
6" Adjustable wrench
Multi-tool
Folding knife
25piece sae/mm socket 3/8 &1/4 drive
19 piece 1/4 drive socket & driver set
7" Vise grip
10" Vise grip
8" groove joint vise grip
LED Flashlight
Hammer
Rubber Mallet
Flat & phillips Screwdriver set
WD40
10" or 12" adjustable wrench
Small level
Electrical tape
Wire brushes

Known items to be added:
Duct tape
Flat bar
Tape measure.
Loctite thread locker
Various pins and shear bolts

Be happy to hear any suggestions. Some of the stuff above may never get used much and I may need other items.

I love tools, but I don't see why you need a multi-tool and a folding knife. You also have 2 sets of 1/4" sockets. I can't see why you would need a level.Grove joint pliers and grove joint vise grips ?, seem to do the same job. I would add some mechanics wire to the kit.

How about some 16D nails. Make into pins for many different projects.

The color coding is unique and interesting but color code your wd40? Is this incase you pull it out while in the shop for another project and forget which tracotr it came from when returning it 10 days latter when cleaning up?

Also PB blaster or liquid wrench is a much better penetrent as well as lube. WD40 chases water and thats about it.

Great idea on the color coding of your tools.

I just did it to keep my kids honest. Lord knows they take stuff all the time and don't put them back.
