Just ordered bolt-on hooks

/ Just ordered bolt-on hooks #21
Just now got an email that my Ken's Bolt on Hooks have shipped! Ken got my email yesterday while "in the shop making up some custom hooks" and he said, in his reply email to my request... "so I just made yours at the same time"!

That, my friends, is SERVICE!

Can't wait to bolt them on!

Thank you kennyd!

Ken's hooks are great. I put a pair on my L3200, with the rectangular tubing spacers to get up over the bucket lip, and they have been working fantastic. The fab quality is top notch. I had a pair on my B2920 as well.

Nice work. I am interested in buying some for my Kubota B7500 but I didn't see them on your web site.
PM and email sent.

That being said I have a set of his hooks and spacers as well as shackle mounts and can attest to the quality! I would swear the primer he put on my stuff is tougher than the paint on my bucket. If he doesn't have a spacer sized to work with the lip on the bucket of your B7500 he may be able to fabricate something. He does put out very nice stuff and is great to work with.
Thanks Panik!

Well just to be clear, I just printed the label, that's why you go the email...they will actually ship in the morning
But I did indeed make them before you really ordered them

Thanks! It's not often I have repeat customers, great to hear you chose my products not once, but twice!

I realize that because of the timeframe, and on a Saturday night!

Just the same, I'm impressed that you got that done so quickly!

I got my shipment email too, maybe mine were the custom hooks he was talking about. His customer service is top-notch.

My hooks arrived today! The installation took about 1 hour. The critical step (for a Kubota installation at least) is where you use the 3/8" bit with the drill guide to mark the holes on the bucket. My first hook went on just fine, the second one took a few "field adjustments" to get it to line up properly. Pics attached, all I need to do now is wait for a warm day to paint the hooks. Thanks Ken!

Was that spacer height a standard length for you bucket model or did you provide the actual measurement yourself? Either way, it looks like the factory lip will support it if it becomes overloaded.

Nice setup. I ordered three of the same hooks from Ken for my B7500 which has the same style bucket as yours. Just wondering why you didn't go with the third center hook? Wondering if I should put the third hook on the center of my BX24 for some good reason. By the way, thanks for posting the photos. Reassuring to me that I made the right choice.

Also like the motorcycle in the background. I am in the San Diego area so I have 19 motorcycles.

I gave Ken the measurements when I placed the order.

I thought about one in the center, but that is the weakest point of the bucket and, knowing me, I would try lifting something too heavy! 19 motorcycles! Wow, I'm jealous. I love spending time on my bike, rode to Key West with some friends a few years ago. I want to ride out west some day before I'm too old!

Don't get too jealous Jim. Most of my bikes are vintage desert racers. My brother and I raced open desert for 25 years so I have a bunch of Vintage Husqvarna desert racers. My road bike is an 86 Yamaha Virago. I am on old guy with a lot of old toys.

Mail lady hand delivered my "Ken's Bolt On Hooks" yesterday and I will be installing them today when it warms up a little more...Thanks Ken for the FAST turnaround!

Here are my Ken's Bolt On Hooks...freshly, mounted and ready to work!
The shackles still interfere with the nuts slightly, even though I cut the bolts off flush...I imagine they'll wear in and develop their own groove with a little time and work.
If not, maybe I'll get a slightly, smaller shackle...
I know....my bucket's too clean...gimme a break...all I've moved is snow so far!:D

Yeah Ken's bolt on hooks are good quality bits of gear. I ordered some before the tractor arrived but unfortunately the bucket has a fold and two layers of steel with a void in between where the hooks would go :(

They will sit in the corner of the shed and find a home soon enough :)

Thanks for the photos. Helpful to see what they really look like. I have three sets on order and can't decide whether to go with my BX24 or my B7500. Leaning toward one on the BX24 because the center is well supported and two on the B7500.

I mounted mine with the nuts on top, using standard nuts and loctite (red) instead of the nylon lock nuts Ken included. That puts the bolt head on the inside of the bucket, with less protrusion.

That's another way of doing it!

Yup...happened to be in my local hardware store and found some "Kubota Orange" so I bought 2 cans. However, I don't think the paint will hold up under extended use...but they're pretty for now!

First job for new bolt on hooks...had to lift my MMM to get my Craftsman tractor out of the shed to sell it...They will come in real handy for lots of tasks!
