Tractor
John Deere 3320
Just left the dealer and told him to order the 3320, 300cx, 72 mmm and 655 tillers for 22,150 plus tax. He gave me 12,050 trade in for my 2005 196 hours, 62c mmm, 210 loader and 647 tiller in very good condition. I hope I at least got a decent deal on my trade-in. I went back and forth for a week but after riding both I thought the size physically was not that much difference but the 3320 felt like wayyyy more tractor but if price had not been so close I would have went with the 2520. Ultimately going with the 3320 was a form of self insurance because the next time I buy a tractor is when some land around here opens up and I will not consider anything under 75 horsepower. Looking to purchase at a minimum 50 to 75 acres.

Thanks for not listening to all the overkill people.

Mark this date in your planner 1-11-09. Put this note "leave message on TBN-did I overbuy on the 3320"

I can almost guarantee in a year from now you will be happy OR you wish you had bought BIGGER than the 3320.

Congratulations, I looked hard at the 3320 prior to my B3030. I really like the 3320 great machine.

Congratulations.

I was in a similar situation. Ordered the 3320. It was supposed to be here just before Christmas - now hearing January 20.

Sounds like a great choice. I bought a 3203 a few months back and am wondering if I should have dug a bit deeper(in the pocket) from the threads I have read. I like mine but based on specs, I am left wondering.
I know a close friend that just bought a 3203 just after me but swapped it for the 3320.(apparently the 3203 had a slightly noisy hydro, so they went up)
Good luck; hope to hear nothing but good news ten years or so down the road.

Congrats, sounds like you made an informed choice. I'd love to hear your initial thoughts (plastikosmd too) on the 3320, I'll be ordering mine in 6-8 weeks.

no real thoughts yet except phew it is big..this was a step up from a kubota b7100. i probably also went bigger than needed..but you only live once. as i get more familiar with it i will let you know. btw i want to put a plow on mine like you have on yours gun..did you go with the stock front a-frame 3point and adapt your own plow or did you make the whole mount yourself? i havent priced the front lift yet...anyone have any ideas of what it costs (no plow..just the front lift) thanks

JD / Frontier has two FEL mounted blades (AL1672E & AL1684E). I haven't been able to get a price from my dealer, but have seen an ad for a JD 990 on Mutton site that says "add a 72" blade for $1,500" and the picture looks exactly like the AL1672E.

I think the other JD front mount blade is MSRP $2,930 including $1,040 for the A-Frame mount.

I have a 60" front mount power angle blade like the picture below, which I believe will clip onto the front weight bracket of a 3320. I've seen an identical mount on the MF GC2300 and if I recall on some of the smaller Kubota's. It's used for the blade / broom / snowblower. I have to experiment, but essentially the plow bracket requires a mounting surface 13 1/4" wide x 5" high and approx. 1/2" thick. If it does not have to be green / yellow you might get lucky and find a used cheap used one. The blade construction is actually quite sturdy.

Was that $22,150 minus the trade of $12,050!!!!?? You stole that tractor for $22150 anyway with those options ($2K tiller, $3500 mmm, $4k loader)....and if they minus the $12050 trade - you may not be able to sleep tonight. Puts that 3320 at $12,650!! You bought some attachments and gave them your tractor and $600 for a new 3320!! maybe even better because that tiller is closer to $3K than it is $2K I bet!

Thanks, I think I got a pretty good deal and yes it was $22,150 minus the trade of $12,050 for the 3320 with 300cx loader 655 tiller and 72mmm mower. So basically i'm out my tractor and $10,000 for the same setup on the 3320.

thanks for the info..i may just make my own mount and add my own plow..can be done a lot cheaper

I used the JD factory quick hitch hydraulic set-up, and adapted a Meyers 6ft plow blade to it. The JD quick-hitch is $500-$550, the plow blade was free plus the paint and steel for fabrication. I don't believe that the 3320 uses the same mount as the 2520. I think the 3320 uses the 380 plow/hitch which is more in the $2500 range.
When I get my 3320, I already have plans to make an adapter for a Meyers plow to fit the JD front 3pt hitch hydraulic assembly. I think that it will be much cheaper than purchasing the 380.

ewww...2500 is a bit pricy. well went through my first storm with the bucket yesterday and it was really quite quick...it may be hard to justify a plow....
thank you

Another option to consider might be the Frontier Loader-Mount Blade. Available in 72" & 84" wide with manual or power angle. Only a few $$ difference between the two sizes. If you have the Rear SCV the PA can run from there. Suspect pricing in $1,500 - $2,000+ range depending on M or PA or other set up fees and taxes.

I bought a boom blade (72") and added a rubber blade. It is still taking me some getting used to it as I have done a scratch job on my drive a bit before I got the rubber blade, but it does need a coat this year. One issue is the blade keeps dumping over at times, seems that I somehow got it angled improperly:confused:
