I think we have it narrowed down to a LS or Kioti. Dealers are small and very responsive as compared to the Massey or Mahindra

howd it go at the kioti dealer yest find anything u liked?

I'm in the same boat, but I can't even find a tractor that fits my needs!! I had a I think around 30hp Massy with a loader and a backhoe that would dig 10ft 11in,(The guy that sold it to me said it would dig 10ft and I didn't believe him until I took it to my land and dug a 10ft 11in hole with no problem..) but when I was in the hospital someone came and wiped me out stealing over 150K of my stuff including my TLB... The insurance company is trying to rip me off as well, so I don't think I'm going to get much from them... So I have been looking for a tractor to replace the one that was stolen... But can't find one, Mine was completely rebuilt, front end rear end new PTO and complete New engine, and had about 90 hours on it when I bought it... I just can't find anything that can dig 10ft without buying a huge 50hp monstrosity!!! I need to put in at least one septic tank, and 2 water tanks to catch the rain water, and they all need to be under the 4ft frost line so it needs to dig 10ft to put 1 ft crushed rock and 1ft of sand for the tanks to set on... The tractors I've looked at only dig 6ft and one went 7ft... I found one that's a little big a Kubota L39 TLB but I guess they don't make them anymore and I can't find one that doesn't have low hours, or in my price range as I'm handicapped now and on SSD... I don't know what a LS is so if someone can please let me know so I can look at them as well... And I know what you are talking about with dealers, I was looking in June in NH and Maine, and I showed up in Tilton 5 min before noon, there were 3 trucks parked there I looked at a couple of the Kubota tractors with the backhoe on them figuring a sales person would come out, as I didn't know that they close "Early" on Saturday... I watch one by one get in there trucks and drive off, there was one truck left so I went to the door and by then it was locked... Not one person even came out to greet me or to even let me know that they were closing... I had driven all the way from Rochester NH, So they won't get my business... I also went to a dealer just over the border into Maine, I pulled in and got out and started looking at the tractors, the small ones at first, there was a woman walking around and a guy working on a tractor in the shop, I decided to look at the big tractors with cabs to see if someone would come help, just then a guy pulled up in a van and both the woman and guy came out meet him... They sat and chatted with him for about 5 min and then got something out of the back of his van and then went and got a part in the back yard and put it in the van... I wasted enough tim there and won't go back there as well... I only had one dealer that was just outside of Concord NH a Kioti Dealer, but they didn't have any used tractors and their new prices were way more than places like TX and AZ... Kioti Doesn't make any tractors that can dig 10ft or more... Even there huge tractors only dig 9ft!! What is wrong with these companies?? I need a tractor that not only can dig 10ft, but can take the backhoe off so I can try my hand at a garden, so I will need to rent or buy a tiller rake and such, but be able to put the hoe back on to hold trees to cut fire wood then off to use a PTO splitter... I don't think Kubota makes the L39 TLB Anymore but wish they would bring it back, Or if anyone knows where I can find one with low hours (Like under 500hours) that has the BT1100 Hoe on it, because it will dig 10ft... I have to be able to tow it with small pickup truck or a SUV... I can't afford new because I'm on SSD and that's a very low fixed income... And I can't afford one that has been beat to death for 1000+ hours, because I can't afford to be repairing it for at least 5 years, until I can save up some money or sell some corn and veggies at a farmers market... Anyone that can help me find what I need would be greatly appreciated!! Oh I have to bring a friend from NH to LAS VEGAS where she stays in the winter and back to NH for the summer so if there is a dealer somewhere in-between there that is good, let me know...

I bought a 2006 Kubota L48 (Craigslist) with 250 hours, from the original owner, in Deer Isle Maine just last month.
It wasn't cheap, but other than sun damage it is like new.
Unlike Tier IV, it fits the KISS principle perfectly!
I am repainting some faded parts and pieces now.

The nearest LS dealer to you is in Arizona, between Wickenburg and Morristown. If you're traveling from NH to Vegas to Henderson though, it would be a good opportunity to check out some used tractors along the way.

Hopefully you can get things straightened out with your insurance company, we pay to much in premiums to find out the hard way what is and isn't covered.

It went well. I liked the two tractors we looked at. We obtained a quote for both. I believe that we have narrowed it down to the Kioti and the LS. Will obtain quote tomorrow for the LS. I believe both are quality products and we like both dealers. Both are small family owned businesses.

In your experience how much wiggle room is there in the original quote you obtain. Do tractor deals negotiate like car dealers?

Glad it went well and you are feeling good about your options.

I walked in with my build a tractor quotes in my hand which were MSRP prices from their websites. I had the build prices from cnh, kubota, mahindra in front of me as well as deere, LS didnt have that option on their site. No kioti dealer in my area and i dont think they a build a tractor feature on their site so it might be a little different on getting the MSRP to work from and compare to their quotes.

2 Kubota dealers not coming off MSRP, LS/Mahindra dealer was not coming off MSRP either and said LS/Mahindra he might be able to squeeze a lil on the LS but not much. Case IH was willing to negotiate off MSRP but didnt say how much and i didnt pursue when he didnt have what i was looking for in less weight/deck/hp.

My JD worked out to be in the 20% range off MSRP - I paid up front for it, no financing, but i didnt ask for any add ons or implements to be negotiated in the deal. Mine was Tractor/Loader/MMM so pretty easy for them to shoot numbers on that. No rear remotes/special lights/mower/tiller/blade/backhoe to muddle things up that can get complicated and hard to really know where you are since some things they dont have as much room to work.

My JD quote was not MSRP it was the salesmans pricing, I got him to come off another 1000 from that original quote when it was all said and done.

Call a few different dealers as close to your area as you can find and get quotes from them. Have the specifics nailed down and have each of them quote the same thing. That will give you a good idea if your preferred dealer is treating you fairly. You may decide to go with him even if he's not the lowest, but at lest you will know if he's trying to take advantage of you.

(oh, and about those stupid cup holders - they don't fit my 40oz water bottle of course and I can't imagine anything that fit in them staying in them with the tractor bouncing around, I'm removing that as soon as I remember to, hopefully before there's a lot of paint fade around it!)

Cycling water bottles fit in the Branson bottle holders. I've not lost one yet.

If the biggest complaint that people have is with the cupholders, I would say that their tractor is a gem. Hang onto it.

well did you get them to sharpen their pencils and whittle them down some today, tell them you they better make it good or you are going to send your wife in to negotiate, most fellas dont like that, women are usually tough negotiators!!!!

Somewhat. Hardly any wiggle room with the both dealers. The Massey dealer called back and they are now in play. I do have one question. Most of the tractors we are looking at have R-4’s vs Ag tires. If we switch out to Ag tires is pushes up the price considerably. Our main use for the tractor will be cutting pastures, grading our driveway and snow removal. We will also do some front loader work. I have done some research on Ag tires vs. R-4’s. The opinions seam to very. One of the pastures has a hill, not that steep and our driveway, about 300 yards has a small grade. What are your thoughts about Ag’s vs R-4 for our needs
