Just Watching and Waiting

Sitting in RV in Rio Grand Valley and have been entertained watching heavy equipment. They are adding some dirt, spreading, smoothing, packing etc. on a levee. All ok till this afternoon. Not sure what the angle is on the sides but I do know I would not run my Bota along the sides. Using big JD tractor with 4 BIG wheels in front and back to pull two dirt movers to add dirt to sides. Just looking I figured something was going to happen. Yup in a short span the operator lost it and slides (lucky) down side ending up against fence around high voltage transformers. Took two doziers and track hoe to get him out. Ten minutes later, same spot both dirt movers started tipping. I was ready to call 911. Again lucky. Somehow he managed to save it. WOW!

Couple of years ago we were trimming (carpentry) a house in a sub division and the property behind was still being develop. They had all kinds of monster dump trucks, track hoes, dozers, and earth movers running all over the place, all monsters! We were up on a rise so we had a press box view of it all. Needless to say, we didn't get nothing done because we were so captivated by the show.

Looks to be a 30 to 35 degree slope he's on. Loose stuff too. I'm not surprised he slid.

WOW I would love to trade weather with you. Looks like its pretty nice out there. Starting to get cabin fever here with 2 feet of snow and 2 nights of -10
