I see I posted in this thread 12 years ago that I ran kerosene + 2-cycle oil without problems. No problems have appeared since.
Real question: How similar are Tiki Torch Fuel and 'pure paraffin' space heater kerosene, to diesel fuel? The MSDS for both say 'kerosene'.
Both are occasionally put out on the Free table at the county's hazardous waste dropoff site. I just came home with a couple of gallons of each.
When available, I run up to a quarter tank of this and add 2-cycle oil at 1:200, plus the usual Power Service, mixed into 3/4 tank of regular diesel.
My tractors are old, one designed in the 70's and the other a little newer, so no computer etc.
Any advice? Any other additives needed? What other (free) fluids are reasonable to use as bogus diesel?

Kerosene is a hydrogen and carbon chain fuel . Kerosene has longer carbon chains than gasoline and shorter carbon chains than #2 diesel.
Kerosene is a 鏑ighter and cleaner burning fuel than diesel . Similar is respect to a spark ignition engine Burning cleaner on propane than when using gasoline .
A Diesel engine borderline on passing emissions testing on #2 diesel will usually pass when burning kerosene .

I suppose this would be the time to complicate matters by introducing Jet B fuel to the kerosene, Jet-A,Jet-A1, JP-5,JP-8, #1 diesel, #2 diesel into the conversation.
