I was on Kioti's site to find out how easy it was going to be to override my dealer when I read their schpiel about customer service. I quoted it and then gave a counterpoint. To bring it back to center I repeated my vote of confidence in the parent company. You could go along thinking you caused me to write that though. No sweat. )</font>
Joe, I can see that you totally misunderstood what I said. I had no intentions of controlling anyone's mind, I was simply hoping someone else, besides me, would say that Kioti would do the right thing. I don't say that what I wrote caused you to say it, you just did. I was happy that someone did, because I would just, once again, be accused of defending Kioti in the face of disaster when it wasn't deserved. It had nothing to do with any mind control.
I never for a moment thought I caused you or anyone to write anything. Well, except maybe for Bob Shurka. He'll always respond to me in the opposite.

HIGHBEAM - this is the outcome that MOST of us were hoping for. It appears that KIOTI stepped up to the plate and is willing to make things right. Get out there and work it hard after the new parts are installed. Keep us posted.

Nah, Bob is not really a contrarian, he's just lonely. He likes the Kioti forum where he posts far more frequently than he does in the NH forum. To be fair he posts a lot in just about every forum except the NH and Chinese tractors /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Maybe the guys in the NH forum are no fun. Or maybe he has a secret yearning for a Kioti, either that or he just enjoys the company here. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Err ah - why not dig with the toothbar? That's the main reason I bought it. Main things I use it for:

- Get under shrubs and small trees (for transplant, not destruction) that are too big for the 2ft BH bucket

- Bust into undisturbed soil over larger areas than convenient with the BH, and also areas with a lot of gravel or small stones

- Rake out stones and roots before smoothing (both going backwards)

- Penetrate piles of wood chips, especially when frozen together

- Increase effective capacity for loose materials like chips

- Provide a stronger lip when moving large rocks around

- Use as a tie point for lifting rocks, logs and shrubs with a chain.

The toothbar is far more solidly built than the loader bucket. Why not use it for digging?

How many companies make tooth bars for their front end loaders from the factory? There may be plenty, but I don't know of any. The attachment on the front of the tractor is called a Front End Loader; FEL. There is such a machine as a Front Hoe. It's rather odd looking, but it is designed to dig from the front. Also, there are plenty of high lift dozers. If the guy selling the tractor, whether he is the dealer principal or a salesperson, and he suggests adding a tooth bar, I'd be sure to get it from him in writing that it will not void my factory warranty and I'd also want to check with the factory to see if the loader was designed to handle the extra stress and pressures that will be added by the loader getting a better bite.

Maybe there are some made from a tractor manufacturer for their FEL's, but I just have not seen them. In essence, by adding a tooth bar to a Front End Loader, you are trying to get it to do something for which it was not designed. If the engineers thought from all their R&D that it be able to take such abuse, don't you think they would add the option to add the tooth bar direct from the factory? Wouldn't it be a big sales tool to be able to brag that your brand tractor is the only one that has the option to come with a tooth bar from the factory? Again, maybe some manufacturer does and I just don't know about them.

I would think that Kioti or any other manufacturer could easily deny a warranty claim on any crack, fracture, or break in the FEL due to abuse if there is evidence that a tooth bar has been on the bucket. I do not think that Kioti (or any other manufacturer who does not make a tooth bar for their buckets) would be in the wrong at all to deny coverage. I'm not wishing the worst for Highbeam, only looking at facts. A lot here has been Kioti vs other manufacturers. Are there broken FEL's from Kioti where a tooth bar has not been used?

Sure, there could be plenty of benefits from having a tooth bar, but if the loader was not designed to handle that type of stress, adding a tooth bar then is nothing more than abuse. For some reason I doubt that any manufacturer just 'forgot' to offer a tooth bar. I'd be interested to see if Kioti offers a tooth bar from the factory or if any other manufacturers do.

No. And I'm missing your point. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif How would doing so create a considerable more amount of bite than what a stock loader would?

I'm trying to say that I don't think that this is a "Kioti thing". I would like someone to prove me wrong. You know, show me a broken Kioti loader that didn't have a tooth bar installed.
