Does the BX25 have the 60 series transmission?

All I want is for my BX2350 to have the same response when letting off the forward pedal as when letting off the reverse pedal. Fair enough?

Yes feathering the pedal does help quite a bit but the amount of travel is minimal and it is compounded when the terrain is not smooth.

As far as the safety issue of it not stopping immediately upon release of the pedal, I end up backing further than I need to as a result of feathering the pedal.

I e-mailed the fellow from Bxpanded a while back asking if he had any fix in the mix. He indicated at that time that he was waiting to see whether Kubota was going to come out with something. I'd be that with enough encouragement from all of us 50 series owners that he could find the time.:)

One final note: From my not-so-mechanical background, it appears to a dampening issue. With the tractor off, step on and quickly release both the fwd and rev pedals. Notice how the fwd pedal smoothly returns to the center position and the rev pedal jumps back?

Does the BX25 have the 60 series transmission?

Yes.

And for the record, I agree that the abrupt reverse stopping is a design defect. Traded out of my BX1850 to an 1860 to cure the issue. I've had hydros for 15 years and never had one that jerked so violently to a stop.

Also, for those who will test drive a BXxx50/BX24 in the future, the issue is worse:

  • in high range vs low
  • in higher RPMs vs lower
  • with warm/hot hydro fluid vs cold

So if you demo a unit in the colder months and it's not fully warmed up, or it's in low gear, you will not notice it too much. Be forewarned.

So, is this issue REALLY cured in the BXxx60 series? My current B7510 jerks hard, but only on pavement where all hydros will experience positive traction. I assume the BX2660 I am anticipating picking up this week will not be as harsh? The one I test drove last week was tight and touchy, but I assumed it was because it was new.

I had not heard of an issue with the 7510. My 7500 is glass smooth and joy to operate.

My 1860 is WAY better than the 1850.

My BX 2350 jerks too but with practice a feathering technique can be learned and become a habit. Maybe my size 13 boots help too.

That guy in the video definately needs front weight. His grass catcher looked full and that can be quite a bit of weight.

Sometimes I like the quick stop when I'm pushing snow backwards with the rear blade.

The BX2660 drives nice and is "Cured" Hydro is also quieter

Looks like I lucked out buying a BX23... except for the air cleaner bracket, it's been flawless.

Does this mean you removed posts that insulted me (I stated the thread)? Please don't be concerned about my feelings. My self-worth is not tied to a tractor brand.
