Backhoe Kubota BX2360 and Woods Subframe Question

Congrats on the install. Looks good!

Have you read this thread:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/54527-bx1500-woods-bh6000.html

It contains lots of pics showing work done by a BX1500 (same sized tractor as BX1860 but smaller engine) with a Woods BH6000.

I am getting a little better at getting my Woods back on the tractor. Having bolt on wheels for the stabilizer pads and the boom allow me to adjust the positioning more easily than I otherwise could. I have to get all 4 points lined up just right and lift all 4 into place at the same time. All of the points have to lift perfectly vertically from the ground to go into place.

Bacfin, thanks for the update. I'm still curious about the Woods BH6000 as I seriously considered it for my BX1860. Not surprised on the fan guard since that was a mid-run change by Kubota. I actually removed mine too to mount my old Bro-Tek skid plate. Now I wonder if that would have interfered with the sub-frame. Didn't even think about it.

The Woods seat design was one of my concerns based on reading some old posts here. My thought when I was deciding was that if I didn't like the Woods set up, I'd try to order just the seat rotation parts from a BX25. I never priced those parts, but it's something you might want to look into. The BX25 has a two small diameter metal dowels that the seat hooks onto in the front and rear. It's a pretty neat design. Not sure how your OPS would work with the BX25 set up since my seat has two kill switches. I think one is for running the rear PTO which is functional with the seat in the BH position vs flipped up on the other BX's.

Over on MTF, there's an older thread about a guy who added a Kubota BH601/600 to his BX2230 (I think that was the model) and he fabbed up a separate seat for the BH that was mounted to some steel tubing and hooked into the top link bracket. He made a right angle frame with the tubing and mounted the seat to that somehow. He could put in on or take it off by simply pinning it to the top link bracket. Just an thought if you're into fabrication.

Now that you have it installed, how easy or hard is the BH hook up or removal? That was another concern I had based on input from Tom H, IIRC. Anyway, good luck with it. I'm jealous of the pin on thumb as it looks better than my bolt on version.

I called Messicks and spoke to sales about the seat to see if I could purchase a BX25 support assembly. No luck, Kubota does not sell it that way. Gee, I wonder why... I will have to purchase all the parts separately in order to get it. Also, I would have to buy the BX25 ROPS bar because the seat latches on to a rod on the bar. I will still look into it, but the price will be high I'm sure. I will look for other solutions in the meantime.

I don't have any problems at all attaching and removing the backhoe. Only takes a few minutes. It was key in the instructions to only tighten the bolts after fully loading the bh on the support pins to make sure it lines up correctly the next time.

Yes, I read that thread before I bought mine. I do agree, the tractor has to be relatively level to re-engage the pins though or it will miss. Just need to find the right groove!!!

Bruce,

My apologies. That second part was addressed to CHDinCT as he mentioned buying a BX1860. I will often reply to more than one person in one post instead of replying to each person individually. Wouldn't want it to look like I'm doing that just to get my post count elevated :D
