I believe you are on the way to getting it fixed. Good luck with the repair, hope it goes smoothly.

Very nice shop indeed!!

Can we talk about issue #2 while I wait on the parts for the FEL cylinders.

What would make the backhoe swing on its own without the travel pin in place? This is likely the same issues again right... seals or valve

Which way is it drifting, Extending the cylinder or retracting the cylinder?
Does it drift only when running or also when the tractor is shut off?
If only when the tractor is running I would suspect some problem in the valve.

If when the tractor is off:
If extending I would suspect cylinder seals.
If retracting it would most likely be the valve.

Do you feel like this is a game of 64 questions? ;-)

I like games.. lol

From the drivers seat when you look back I think it swings to right side so that we mean it swings to the left side of the tractor. (I will confirm this though)

I've only ever noticed it when the tractor is running.

So from the diagram that would be when the cylinder is retracting right?

Dubo,
Unless I am looking at things totally backwards (which is very possible) retracting the swing cylinder would move the hoe to the right side of the tractor. This would be viewed as sitting on the tractor seat facing forward looking over the hood.

Just a thought- why not break the hydraulic cylinder nuts loose ( Before ) unmounting them from the tractor.

Sh** you are right...lol

So the cylinder is extending

So the cylinder is extending

If the cylinder is extending while the engine is running would point towards a couple of possible problems.
1) What is the pressure when the tractor is running and the valves are all in the spring centered condition? If there is higher pressure normal spool leakage would tend to make cylinders extend.
2) Spool not returning to center: If the spool does not return to center pressure could leak to one of the work ports and the other port would leak to tank.

If drifting with the engine off I would suspect bad cylinder seals. If you put the Right stabilizer down so the hoe is loaded like trying to extend the cylinder does it drift over with the engine off? Same thing if you put the left stabilizer down will the cylinder drift to retract?

I need to check a few things here before answering I guess. I assume the spool is returning to center but I'm not certain. Furthermore I'm not certain if that can be adjusted.

To check the pressure while the tractor is running would have to be done on that one control valve right? I may need additional adapters and such to test that.

I will try setting the stabilizer down and seeing if the swing drifts while the tractor is off as well. Good idea!

Parts for the lift cylinders should arrive in time to work on the tractor this weekend. I'm going to put a new hydro filter on after all the repairs and top everything back off. Hopefully she'll be ready to work then.
