Kubota BX25 FEL falls under own weight

To check the pressure in the circuit with all valves in neutral would require installing a gauge in the pressure line feeding the back hoe valve. There might be some optional pressure ports on the hoe valve where a gauge could be installed vs teeing into the line. If and I repeat IF I remember correctly the BX series 3 point control is spring loaded lever that if it does not return fully could cause some restriction / back pressure in the system.

Spool centering. Probably not adjustable but possible some slight binding in the linkage or something like a stick got lodged in the linkage. Darn mice love building nests in the darnedest places.

Now don't mess up your nice clean shop with this messy hydraulic stuff.:D

Yea the BX has a supply and return line. I could test the pressure there.

Good points to check the linkages too. I was just in there lubing those not too long ago. Should have taken a closer look then.

LOL. Most of my time spent on a job is preventing a mess. I'm certain this one will be no different.

I'm no expert but I'm certain this was the problem. Not bad for a shade tree mechanic huh.. lol

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!!!

I do believe that would cause some problems. Did you see anything that would have promoted that seal failure?

Don稚 think you qualify for shade tree be more like garage fanatic ;-)

I didn't see anything.. The cylinder bore looked brand new minus some of those blue pieces floating around. All the other cylinder seals were still in good shape. :confused3:

Refresh my memory....was this lift or bucket?

wonder how many of those pieces are in the valve?

This was the lift cylinders. Hopefully none of those pieces made it back to the valve. In theory any fluid would have returned to the tank. From there I believe it is screened first and then sent thru the hydro filter before making it back to the control valve.

All seems well now

IF that was the lift cylinder, and was retracting on its own (drift) then that bad seal....yes is a problem....but not the cause of the drift.

Fixing it in theory can "slow" the drift down....or maybe completely stop it if the valve is worn.....but it isnt the root cause of the drift.

I have no signs of drift now. :confused3:

The bucket will remain in place once the lever is returned to center. You can also shut the tractor down and the bucket will in place for hours. Are you suggesting there could still potentially be another issue with the valve?

Good to see you solved the issue. All valves have internal leakage, some more than others. If the drift now is acceptable, then I would think you are good to go!
