Kubota Conundrum...Which Model?

I stopped by the dealer today to begin finalizing the deal. I've decided to go with the BX25 w/ R4 tires, 3-Point Hitch, and 60" Mid-Mount Mower deck (although I'm still not sure... I see Pros and Cons for both). I've decided to wait on the extra set of wheels with turf tires to see how the R4's perform on my lawn. Since I'm not getting the extra wheels I've decided to get a box blade. The dealer is recommending a 42" since this is a Sub-Compact. They're saying it "fits" better on the 3-point. Many others seem to be using the 48". I realize the 42" won't cover the wheel tracks and that seems to be a problem. I have zero knowledge on using a box blade. Should I go with the dealer recommended 42" or step up to the 48"? Pros / Cons ??? I'm signing the papers Thursday for a Friday delivery...

Go with a 48" box blade...that's what the "subcompact" lines feature (King Kutter XB series, Bush Hog CBX48, Woods GBC48). You should nearly always opt for implements that cover your tracks, especially blades and tillers, and there are few tractors that don't have enough power to handle implements that wipe out their tracks (most tractors w/ power to handle up to 4' implements are <48" wide, etc.).

I agree with this, and defiinately would work with the 48" you have the power.

buy a used 45hp or so Tractor, loader, backhoe for about 5k less than you are spending...

then buy good used zero turn for cutting grass.......

go with 48 inch box blade. The 42 will fit better, but the 48 is not going to give you constant headache putting it on. I don't even think it will give you problems. the extra width is always nice and well appreciated for.
