KUBOTA INTERCHANGEABLE LIGHT BAR
HI FOLKS,
I needed some lights, like every one else.because the days are getting shorter, and you have to quit so early. There is not much time to play....i mean WORK on the tractor after the regular day job. Some day i may want to get a different bota, and im gonna have to figure this out all over again.Kubota doesnt want you to weld or drill your rops, and i didnt want any liability from any future owner[you have to be paranoid these days],so with all this in mind heres what i come up with.
How about an interchangeable light bar, that clamps to the rops, with all the switchs and electrics inside.First i got some 4 inch muffler clamps and modified them[grinded] to set on the flat rops. Next a piece of pipe, the round clamps, will hold it better.I then welded the light brackets on the pipe. You can put these wherever you want,i chose two front facing, and one rear hoe light.I then drilled some wire holes just the right size for rubber grommets.I made holes for my two toggles, one for the fronts, and one for my hoe light.A little primer and paint, and start assemblin.
I used them last night ,for some hoe work, and fel work and its just like day time.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.I shut off the reg lights so not to over tax the electrical systems out put.......They are use less any way.
With this design ,i can put them on any rops, and dont have to figure out where to toggle, just one wire,to hook to a power supply.I forgot to mention i installed an in line fuse holder, even though the aux circuit is already fused.
Heres a pic of most every thing on the work bench, guess i forgot to show the clamps.......................
