Kubota keys

YOU REKEY the cylinder. Modify it slightly in a manner that accomodates the modified key if that is what you have to work with. Having a similar blank would give you more options.

Like I took a bunch of new locksets to a locksmith. He took apart the keyways and re-pinned them (that's the word I was looking for) Now certain keys fit certain groups for certain buildings and a master key operates them all. All done with inexpensive off the shelf locks I bought at trade price.

Why not just put an altogether different key set on? Or as others have suggested and/or done, install a master cutoff which they would need to look for.

That is what I did!
A battery cutoff.
Cheap on E-Bay.

It may not be easily done. I don't have a kubota keyswitch lying around to try.

I think it would be craftier to have an "almost" kubota key rather than something obviously different.

I like master disconnects, don't get me wrong. But putting a hidden "lower current" toggle switch in series with the keyswitch would be easier. Easier to wire and hide. Just, I don't like butchering OEM wiring.

Being in the security biz for a few decades. It's usefull to know who or where a given threat is likely to come from. Many thefts are inside jobs or have information and access.

So did my neighbors. And didn't have a lock on their door. Came home one day and everything was GONE! They were emotionally damaged by the experience!

People always say, it's just stuff, or it's insured, until they experience it and the violation of their perceived safe space.

I have been told that people never feel the same about their home safety, after it has once been breached.

I have been robbed out of my truck and had a briefcase/wallet stolen. Of course it was the very the ODD time I was carrying a good amount of cash. Trying to figure out who did it and in the case of my briefcase where, almost drove me nuts. I couldn't sleep at my Mom's anymore, only half asleep, aware of every noise. I'm sure if victimized enough, you would get used to it. People do, in high crime areas.

Many tractors have so much plastic and if equiped with a FEL, are not that easy to jump start.
All you need to do is get 12v from the battery to the small terminal on the starter solenoid, not hard to do even on a BX.

Also, dragging a tractor with lowered FELonto a flatbed could be a challenge too.
Using a rollback or a trailer with a winch, put the loader in float, pry the bucket up enough to get the winch line under it, then connect it to the brush guard. No problem at all.
Easier with a tilt bed trailer, but not overly hard without.

If someone wants your tractor and comes with a trailer with a winch and a few tools they WILL get it.

Some new heavy equipment has chip in the key now
Kubota excavator
Units that are ordered to be rentals come with chipped keys. Everything else is standard.
I have been working construction for 30 years, and have personally seen only a few machines stolen. Two Bobcat skidsteers, one Cat, four Case when they first came out with the XT痴, a Cat 950G payloader, (returned the next weekend, perp never caught), a Cat D6N, )new, small style), and the biggest one: a Case Quadtrac 450. Driven over to the road, in-hitched the scraper and dropped it, onto the road and onto a trailer on a Sunday, 500 from a state highway.
Like I said, nothing to worry about.
