Looks like they have the L3700 on the website now.
Boy I don't know guys, I use the cruise control on my L3400 alot when mowing and other tasks. Not sure I'd want a hydrostatic trans without it.
L3400 3pt hitch at lift point is 1985.........L3700 3pt at lift point is 1998
Actually they are identical, both 1998 lbs.
L3400 shows no power steering (but I thought they had it) ...........L3700 has power steering
Yes to power steering
So to sum it up, they gave the bigger HP engine more oil but less trans fluid other than the obvious missing amenities.
The different numbers might be mis-prints or different method of measuring. Displacement, bore and stroke are identical. In my opinion it's the same engine with a tweak to the injection pump to give 1.7 more gross HP. They did that in 2009 as well, mine has the "Xtra Power" decal to indicate there is one extra horse available under the hood.
Base pricing gives the L3700 exactly $1K less cost.
They trimmed a few bits off and dropped the price on the same basic tractor. The fuel pump tweak didn't cost them anything other than the cost of new decals. I'm curious about the seat now, I'll drop into the dealer tomorrow and see if it actually IS different. Assuming they still have the tractor.
I'd like to know what drove the change in marketing strategy, and whether they fixed the 3ph "jumpy" issue at the same time. Mine isn't too bad, but it's something Kubota should have fixed early on. The 3400 was and still is a very popular tractor for them, it might have had something to do with being able to offer a nice even 30 PTO HP with an HST tranny.
The different hydraulic flow might be a typo, the 3400 is 6.3 gpm, the 3700 is 6.8. Power steering flow is the same.
