I've been digging thru all the forums for several weeks now, and have read alot of discussion about the pros and cons of the big-iron and the small TLB's.

It seems just as plain as the nose on my face that the $dollar/Hp equation for the small TLB's is "bad math"! And it looks like the equation might even be worse in the short term with the slow-down in the building trades and all the bigger stuff on the market...

But try as I might --- I just can't get around the idea that the big-iron ain't never gonna won't fit my barn and corral and would be a danger to the house and all my building's when I gotta clear snow. And I gotta have that 3pt, too! Tiller, rake, mower and helping with hay work every summer. And sure as the sun comes up; I can't afford to buy a bigger truck and trailer to move the TLB from point A to B!!

So.... I'm lookin' pretty hard at the used L48's and 110's. And expectin' to pay a premium if I end up buyin' new! (It's the AMERICAN way and just doin' my part for the economy.)

(Oh yah, I think the current version of the 210 is hoe-less. Positioned as a "land-scape" tractor.)

Bad math for some, but able to produce more money for others! ;)

I hear that. Still can't beat the all around versatility. If you have to do it all (3pt, skid steer, hoe, ect.) then what else is there? We'll just have to get over the new sticker price of the M59. You can't be surprised. If I had to replace my 2003 superduty with a 2008 it would be the same situation. I'll still gripe to my salesman when I see him of course. And make sure I get plenty of life out of my L48 before I trade up. At least it doesn't look too "L39'd".

curtis,
sorry for the late reply. i am very happy with my B300. as with all machines there are things that would make it better. but the B300 is ideal for what i need. of course in winter i freeze and no aftermarket cab is available. that is my only gripe. pound for pound the earthforce, bobcat, I/R machines are beasts and there is nothing to that can compare with them as of now. we'll see what the M59 brings. the B300 is better suited for tlb functions and has no 3 point hitch. you can run some skid sterr attachments off the front. i have hydraulics on the loader for that. as far as mowing i would look to a tractor with a 3 point. for heavy tlb work then they are hard to beat. the best is they are selling for next to nothing now. when it gets to where i start needing parts i'll probably buy a parts machine. so far it has been very reliable and have had no breakdowns.
builder,
i have been pestering the case and JD guys hoping to find out some info on future machines. they haven't said much. checked out the jcb and it has 2 problems for me. 1 its a jcb and 2 the dealer isn't the best. also they are priced very high. not enough payoff to trade the B300 for such a similar machine. it is also heavy for its size. if you have any info come on out with it. would love to hear a rumor to keep the hopes up.
good luck,

capt met,

If that 300 works for you, just keep running it. You're saving money and getting the job done.

Capt,

Thanks for the feedback on the B300, I don't know anyone who has one and have always wondered. They look very strong. Did not know they have no 3pt. hitch. My buddy is pricing a L5240 HSTC, which is nice and all...especially that awsome cab, but is no L48, B300, or M59. Even without the cab (which I really want bad......I may start plowing with my KX121 mini x, it has a cab and heat!!!!).

builder,
i'll definitly keep the B300 but i like to keep an alternate plan "B" ready to go. its a great machine but if it should go down at some point i want to know what comes next instead of starting the shopping and research process then.
good luck,

Wish JD would offer the 210 with a backhoe.
