A while back, Texas Fella was talking about back pressue and he said this, "You can also do the same thing by holding the loader over relief for an extended period of time."

What does that mean, if I am sitting on my tractor, how do I do this?

I think he was questioning the possibility of too much back pressure from the installation of the flow control valve wearing out the hydraulic pump too rapidly. You can for sure wear your pump out rapidly if you wish by holding your loader control valve joystick so that the lift or curl cylinders are fully extended and the relief valve kicks in. And just keep on holding the joystick in the extend position and continue to heat up the fluid, drag down the RPM of the engine and wear out the pump. I think that is all he meant.

OK, yeah I do alot of stuff with my loader like digging stumps and pushing on trees. I want to make sure I dont do whatever you are talking about here.
Hardly ever just dig dirt.

Has anyone else tried just the chamfering of the the PCV as below from original post?

I'm trying to get a read on repeatability of the modification (i.e. consistently reduces the jerks from 1" to ~1/4").

"1. Disassembled the PCV and chamfered the spool control edges by ~200 um. This increased PCV response and reduced the violent jumps from 1" down to less than 1/4". "

I think I could live with this alone and it is a not so involved solution, and knowing this would allow me to purchase a used L2800 I'm interested in.

Thx,

Paul

That sounds like a good fix, if one is actually experiencing '1" jerks'. The bad ones look to be jumping in 1"+ increments, but they are rare...

Mine moves in 1/4" and only noticeable when raised VERY SLOWLY, as it's designed to. Under normal use, it's not noticeable at all.

Haven't you heard?? The jerky hitch doesn't exist. It's all just a bad dream...dream..... dream....:D:D:D:D

Yeah, I forgot about that. Add me to the list of people who got the "I've never heard/seen that before" response from their dealer, along with the "Kubota says that's normal on those tractors, if you want a smooth lift, you should upgrade" line. :(

Arghhhhhhh.... come on you guys. Every time I think I've forgotten how pi**** I am at "the corporate line" someone has to go and remind me. Then again, grading my driveway last weekend with the rear blade reminded me too so maybe I'm my own worst enemy.

Why are owners having to devise home remedies for this problem ? Kubota obviously knows these tractors have a problem, yet they are continuing to ship defective tractors to dealers. Kubota
should own up to the problem, recall and fix the affected tractors.

It's really not that big of a problem.

might be down the road when the tractor case cracks or breaks from the force of a heavy implement jerking around on the hitch
