Sitting on the ground not bolted up the fingers will stick out much further and that gap will be greater.

OK, I'm putting it all back together to see what happens...

One thing I'd suggest - the new clutch assembly may have been sitting around for a while and the pto disk may just be a little stuck to its faces, like a travel clutch can get when the tractor sits a while. Maybe connect a rotary mower to the pto and see if running with the pedal down will break it free ? May need to set it down on some brush or something to develop some whacks.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that, mostly because I've never replaced an entire assembly like that. I've always just replaced needed parts. I have the Kubota set-up jigs too so that makes things a bit easier.

I will give that a try

That didn't work.

I will re-check everything...maybe I will have to split the tractor again and disassemble the clutch pack.

Anything else I should check first?
