L3130 vs. JD 4310

So I went and priced these two, and was very suprised:

JD 4310 w/430 FEL and 47 BH and Top n Tilt = $25,770

L3130 w/723 FEL and Woods 9000 BH and Top n Tilt = $32,200

I realize that specs on the FEL and BH lean in the favor of the L3130, but is there really almost $7,000 difference???

The 3130 price is way off, try another dealer, that is what I would have to pay in Canada and our quotes are usually 1.3-1.5 times the quotes for US dealers. I believe that package should be closer to 26-27k.

A better comparison would be with the JD 48 hoe. Your price on the Kubota is quite high.

Agreed. The 3130 Kubota price is way too high. In Texas you could get a L5030 HST, R4, Kubota BH90 backhoe, Kubota quick attach heavy duty 853 loader and a cap for that price. (add $1200 more for T-n-T) /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

2 things stand out to me - 1st your Deere dealer is quoting a less expensive BH, the 4310 can also accept the 48 BH - it's a little beefier all the way around... but also a few more $$. 2nd - That L3130 price is high! I came down to the same 2 as yourself, priced the same models when I was looking, and found the L3130 and 4310 when comparably configured were within about $200 of each other at the dealers I was working with.

Have you driven both yet? Putting aside specs for a minute - which one meets your criteria? Comfort - Ease of use - Good Dealer Support... etc. Either machine will do what you want it to do, frankly they are my 2 favorite compact lines out there. I'd try them and look at the whole picture. For me, going with the Deere came down to some ergo details I liked better on the Deere (Hydro pedals) and the fact the dealer is so close to my house.

That's pretty interesting. I just went and got quotes this morning on both of the same machines, but without the BH. Just walked in the house, logged on and opened this thread /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. The JD quote was for 4310 HST with R4 tires @ $17,070; 430 Loader/61" HD bucket @ $3,585 and 60" Finish Mower @ $1749. Tax was $1120.20. Total - $23,524.20

Kubota quote was for a L3130HST w/R4 tires @ $15,440' LA 723 Loader @ $4,700 and 60" Landpride FDR 1660 Finish Mower @ $1,499. Tax $1081.95. Total $22,720.95

I'm using $7,000 for a general figure for the cost of a BH. Seems to work out well. This will be my first ever tractor and hope it outlasts me. Now, I just have to decide /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. I brought home literature on each and they're just across the street from each other, same financing terms, delivery, set up etc.

I do not have a bh on my 3130 but with the fel and 3130 hst with r4's was less than $17,000 delivered, I think the cost of the 3130 sounds high as well, shop around.

If you paid that, thats awesome, because its way below dealer cost. Many people are paying that for a B2910.

well I should say that that was a year and a half ago, and from what I was told at the time was about 300.00 over cost.

Also as an agricultural tractor here in ID there is no tax.

I went and looked at the invoice and I did pay right at 17K for it.

The dealer is 2 miles from home.

I do not know if the cost has gone up that much or not.

That is an excellant price on the Deere. I have the same setup less topntilt and love it! I had prices that varied wildly but one dealer shot me a great price from the start. When it came down to it the others would match him, but i wentwith the guy that did me right from the start.
