I went yesterday to the local dealer to have a look at the possibilities of financing my future tractor. My price range was set around the L4300 which gives lots of tractor for the money. Here in Canada the financing for the L4300 that I have in mind is 8.25% and to my surprise the financing for the grand L's is only 5.9%. When I calculated both financings for a L4300( $23500.00 CAN) and a L3710($26480.00) they come so close in monthly payments that I actually can include the L3710 in my price range . My question now is what is in your opinion and experience more important, the plain and simple L4300 with 37.5 PTO hp or the L3710 with 30 PTO hp and HST and all the other goodies. As I mentioned before I will use the tractor for loaderwork, snowcleaning, brush mowing, lawn mowing and general use on my new property which is 640 acres.

Gurt, in that case, it'd take me about 2 seconds to decide on the L3710./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Of course, if you really need that additional PTO hp, . . . well, there's undoubtedly a place for the L4300.

Gurt,
In my opinion, unless you have an attachment that absolutely won't work with the 30 PTO horses, the L3710 will be a good choice. You listed lawn mowing in your note, and the 3710 has the option of a belly mower where I don't think the 4300 has that option. Also, the Kubota HST is worth about a half a tractor in productivity (to me at least) /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. It really shines in loader work.

Both tractors can do the job for you, the HST just makes it easier. The down side is the warm up is probably a bit longer for the HST than for a gear tranny in the winter. Either way, have fun!

Holy smokes!!! 640 acres/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif??

I think most people on this board will steer you towards the hydro trans, but the standard gear is not an unreasonable option....but if the payments are close I would go for the one that will fit your needs the best/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Good luck, and don't forget to fill out your profile when you get the new tractor.
