How wide would you go with a Landscape rake? My GL3240 is right at 6' wide with the R4's. Would you go 6' so is it not wider then the tractor when not angled or go 7' so when angled it is close to the tractor width?

I have only found a few 6'ers used and can't find any 7' at the stores so will have to order a 7' if I go that route. Found a good looking ABI rake for a decent price. Don't want to go the cheap TSC route from the stories of them bending really easy.

I would go with the 7'. You want to cover your tracks when angled, and you have plenty of tractor for a 7' rake.

Go at least 7 feet. My rear width is about 6 foot 6 inches and at the biggest angle an 8 foot rake covers the width but a 7 foot rake wouldn't.

7ft I use one on my ford2000 no problem

I laid out your 6' os/os rear wheel distance on paper and found that a maximum rake degree pitch that would be equal to the 6' wheel distance is 30
degrees. I couldn't find any degree specs on the ABI site-check into it-30 degrees is fairly to way extreme, and might hit the rear tires. Anything less than that will do a better job of covering your tracks.
I also didn't see a guide wheel option.

Whitnel:

Our tractor out-out is 5'-8", have a 7' wide rake ; I'd agree to go 1' wider to angle.

My Arps is 8' That the perfect width to cover my roadway at a 45 degree tow angle. Gauge wheels also recomended. That helps isolate the tractor ups and downs from the tine bar.

7' it is then. I am going to look at a landpride and woods tomorrow if I can find some. I went by the local Kubota and JD dealer and neither had any Landscape rakes. Looked at the TSC model and a Kodiak at the local CO-OP.

I believe this thing will see alot of use over the next two to three years while working the drive and eventually building the house and shop. So I don't want to buy something that will fall apart or bend too easily.

MtnViewRanch,
Thanks, I sent those guys an email. I found a company about 45 minutes away that carried Fred Cain but only had a 6' unit and did not know when they would place another order. They would not just order one rake for me, needed to be a certain size order.
