Arrived home 6 hours later and worried about how I was going to off load this 2741 lb rock. I needed a temporary resting place until I got the three U shaped decorative rock walls built (one for each rock). I backed the Suburban and trailer on the top of a small rise and planned on backing the trailer down the slope and hitting the brakes. Figured the rock sitting on the plywood would just slide out. WRONG! It never moved an inch but the Suburban slid to the bottom of the rise with the trailer. Moved back up to the top of the rise and backed the trailer half way down and blocked the trailer. Got my PT425 out and placed straps around the rock and to the 425. Put the 425 into reverse and without any hesitation pulled the rock out of the trailer and onto the ground. I was so proud of the 425.

Final picture of the rock on the ground. The U shaped wall will be built to the right of this spot. I will hire a small crane to lift the rack into the center of the U shaped area (dirt filled) which will have ornamental grasses on three sides.
In the background is the new tractor shed (bottom) garden shed (top) being built.

All this reminds me of the pipe flange I found at Jane's junkyard one day that I thought might make a great heavy duty table base. Yup, it weighed in at 3,800 lbs - And for a measly $100 it oughta do just fine as an immovable object. Thinking it might be a bit heavy for me to move with my Tacoma they offered to have one of the locals with something a little bigger bring it over for me. Two hours, twenty miles, and $50.00 later it showed up in the back of an old half ton pickup gently cradled in a pile of sand, together with an engine block and a bunch of other miscellany to keep it company for the journey. My ol' International 484 rolled 'er right out onto the ground. No problem!

Maybe I oughta make a planter out of it,

That is so cool! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I realize it was on a plywood skid and all, but it is still so cool! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks MR
Actually it's a shirt from Destination Imagination World Finals (problem solving for kids 5 to 20) which my wife and I are judges. After 10 years of doing this (OM and DI) one collects a number of "work shirts".

How appropriate... a problem solving shirt for when you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Sorry, couldn't resist. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Apparently the problem solving worked, as you did it! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

ROTFLMAO! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif The pictures of loading the rock were hysterical! It took 3 huge machines to load it, and one little Power-trac to pull it off...can't stop chuckling over here!

I managed to push a skid loaded with around 3000 lbs of brick pavers on my concrete driveway with my old 1418...it can't pick it up, but I sure could scoot it along (it was down a very slight incline...but still, I certainly couldn't have moved it by hand!)
