Don't have the bottle with me...but it was the smallest one at the store...used about 1/2 the bottle.....so far so good. Good to hear the little bit of wetness will go away.

Good to have sites like this to go to and people willing to share their experiences. Thanks Guys!

I hope that down the road I will be able to contribute more than I am taking from the site.

My YM169D had a similar problem but it leaked a lot of oil, especially after i had used the tractor ore even if it sat for a day. Since my step dad wasnt to happy about oil on the garage floor, i had no choice but to get it fixed. My approach was to take it apart and get something replcaced. Originally i thought that an "O" ring was shot but it ended up being one of the larger seals. I had a heck of a time finding some of the parts, especially trying to locate the top cap that prevents water and dirt from entering and trashing my new seal. I got the seal from John Deere (same part on the 650) and could not find that cap so i ended up reusing my old one which is in rough shape. In the end, I learned how to take apart the front end of my tractor and how to replace the seal in it. Great way to learn but it helps when you have someone there who knows what your doing.:) This fix has lasted for me but it did cost some $$.

Well....my front end seal starting leaking again.....guess when the temperatures warmed up the oil became thinner.....had not really used it alot and it started leaking after being under my shed for a while.

I am currently taking it off to replace. For those interested I am going to try to document the procedure to help anyone else who may need to do this. I know their are a few others that have done it...but what I have seen not on the same front end as the american "made" 4wh drive models. Always take any suggestions or personal knowledge anyone want to provide. Gary Jamieson has been giving me guidance so far. Always has good info to share.

So far I have drained the oil and pulled the hub off. I am in the process of taking off the sleeve and then the seal.

I wrote the location info on the shims so I would remember which side to put them.

Had other things to do today, so I will start again tomorrow. Let me know if you see something I may be missing. Alot more experts out there than me. This is all new to me so I am learning as I go.

Yanmar Tractor Parts: FRT. AXLE COLLAR _

I was looking at both my manual and the one on the PDF and there is no seal above the collar according to the manuals. When mine leaked i replaced an O-Ring which was part # 24341-000800 O-Ring 1A S-80.0 and another seal from JD which was part # 194447-13650 Seal TC6Y445711.5

That being said mine has yet to leak, it has been some time and I have ran it in some pretty warm temps. in terms of our climate. Hope you can get the problem resolved and best of luck to you. :)

JD you are correct...the sleeve I am taking off (pushing down) in the picture with the screwdriver is rubber backed..there is no other seal above it........the seal I will be replacing is in the back side of hub that has the shaft sticking out.

Has rained off and on since yesterday and although it is under a shed....it is not well protected from strong rains and winds.....hopefully I will get motivated over the weekend to complete the tear down.

Will update as I progess.

Seal and collar will do the trick. Had same problem on 186D......used the Lucas...worked well for a awhile but developed slow leak again. Had to do some other work on front end......replaced seal and collar at same time. Easy fix....no leaks! Good luck.
