I had a message on my iphone that there had been a data breach and my password on Tractorbynet may have been compromised.
I didn't see how as I have a very secure password.
Anyway I decided to change it as a precaution but now I have to log in every time I visit the site. Before I stayed logged in. The box is ticked to stay logged in but that is not working. I find it frustrating.
Funny thing, the message I got on my iPhone disappeared by itself. I did not delete it. Maybe it was a hack as it suggested I go to the site via my iPhone but I decided to do it on my laptop instead.
Mystery. But I still have to log in every time. I don't get notifications like I used to even though I visit regularly. Even in this message I am not able to select BOLD type etc?

Did you make changes via a link in message or did you go to TBN as usual then make changes? Either way I would delete cookies, trackers, remembered passwords, auto sighn ins and such (make sure you have passwords for other sites and accounts beforehand) then do a scan for trojans and trackers. Might even be worth paying a geek to help.
At least send a message to TBN asking if they notify members with messages like that. I seriously doubt they do.

I came into TBN to make the changes. NOT via a link as I said in the first post. Does anyone else have to log in each time now. Maybe TBN has made changes? The message did not come from TBN. It came on my iPhone and quoted my Optus email address which I do not use anymore and TBN does not have my phone numbers. As I said, the message then disappeared from the phone. How? I do not know. Pretty sure it was a scammer, however it does not explain why I now have to log in every time I visit TBN. I do have protection on my PC, but this message came through the iPhone. Any forum I visit has a different PW and I have them written in a notebook.
Maybe TBN has been compromised as it quoted my nickname (Alien)

What type of message was it on your iPhone? Email? Text message? Something else?

As for needing to log in every time, perhaps something is preventing your browser from storing and loading cookies? If you start in private mode, it will do that.

It showed on the front of my phone like a text does, then when I touched it to go into messages it wasn't there.
I have no problem with other stored Passwords etc. Just TBN now. Has anyone tried changing their PW lately? It seemed to be a bit of a task when I did it. Not straight forward like it used to be. I use Brave browser.

It sounds like what you received was a notification not a message. Try swiping down. I have no idea which app would have generated it though.

All the best,

Peter

It may have been a phishing message. It's made to look like a valid page from a common site to get you to login. When you enter your user name/password on the fake page, you're done. Your account is then stolen.

I had an email come in just the other day from "Amazon". It was about some order I didn't make so that sent up a red flag. The email looked legit but it sent me to a page that wanted me to login. That was bogus since I stay logged in to my Amazon account. So I jumped over to Internet Explorer where I have an Amazon link. I used that and there was no need to login. I checked my orders and the bogus order wasn't there. I sent a copy of the email to Amazon.

I have had a few Amazon ones Tinhack. Only ever bought 2 things off them in my life. I think that they guess everyone buys off Amazon.

According to messages i recieve I have an order ready, banking error, expired warranty ad a dozen other things needing attention daily.
Nothing suprise's me today. Consider this if you will. Scamming, phishing and such are attempts to steal right? What usually happen's if you attempt steal a watch from a jewelry store and get caught? Arrested? Maybe but times are a changing.
