my old craftsman 25hp lawnmower is on its last leg and cant get parts for it anymore. so i'm looking for new one. went by my dealer today to look at mowers, i rode the zd21 and the bx. i like the zero turn but not the thing for pulling wagons in the garden. anyway got a price of 11300 for a bx with turf tires and a 60" deck and no hydo value for a fel.(dont need it with a the B2620)

how do you guy like you BX for just mowering grass? and pulling a wagon around the yard?

Seriously, since you already have the other tractor, if you are only cutting grass, towing a trailer, no FEL and not working the rear PTO I would look at the BX1860 if you live with a 54" deck. I am sure that is more than the Craftsman deck size. Additional cost savings to be had with a great turning radius compared to the BX2360. Although little less power but a lower center of gravity with a little shorter tires, with a shorter wheel base makes it a really nice grass cutting machine.

Or even a Green X model, if quality is your game. And this from a BX owner!!! Seriously, even the baby 'Bota is probably overkill. There's a tough X320 or similar that would fit the bill for 1/2 a BX1860.

To answer your question, I absolutely love the BX for mowing. I prefer it over my John Deere 425 and 2305.

I have have 22 hours on my BX2360 with a 54 inch MMM and a grass catcher and love it! It replaced a Cub 3165 with a fan assisted bagger, definitely and much better machine. If you use the catcher, towing a trailer would require dropping the catcher first. I also was looking at the zero turn first, but my dealer confirmed the axle problems and I am glad that he steered me to the BX.:)

I have a BX2360 and 60MMM. It's a great mower. I also think the BX1860 would be best if mowing is the main chore. Wondering why not a mower for your B2620? Many have them and it sounds like they a real nice also. The drive over mower sounds like a nice feature.

tubzz,
Not sure what BX model you were quoted and not sure which part of Missouri you reside but when I spent my hard earned cash on a 2009 BX1860 I got a quote from every Kubota dealer in Missouri. Fritz Implement gave me the best deal down in Monnett and I haven't looked back since. Stay away from the con-artist in Springfield. Goes by the name of Charlie. All he wants to do is ripp you off.

The 1860 turns on a dime and runs like a dream. Getting in and out of tight spots is so quick and so easy. And don't worry about the power. It's got plenty for a small acreage, estate or hobby farming. Just don't mow downhill on a wet slope unless you're in 4WD and low range :) :) :)

Also,
Look into a rear finish mower if you live in the Ozarks. I can't tell you how many times I've been able to cut grass under trees, over banks and over mini cliffs that a mid mount mower couldn't get close to. My little beast was a great choice for mowing grass, pulling wagons and a hundred other things. Best of luck with your decision and keep us updated.

if the 1860 had a 60" deck it would be the one that i would get for sure, i have a 3pt mower for the 2620 which does great in the field but around the house its on the big side. plus i a screwed up my left arm from a fall years ago, so doing a MMM on the 2620 would be very hard for me one handed if i could do it at all.
my dealer recommended the bx2360 over the bx1860 because of HP and i wanted a 60" deck.also i have 2 wagons that we pull together. we have had them full of gravel from the creek, dirt, and wood. i have had to pull the craftsman with the wagons full up the hill in the yard. so the 2360 will be more than just a mower.we do have a need for a 2nd tractor bigger than your everday riding mower

after today the craftsman is dead as a mower. took me 3hrs to pull the deck and fix (help along) a spindle on it. you dont know how good you got it tell you loose a arm i am hear to tell you,

tubzz- how big of your acreage do you have and intend to mow with? lots of trees? 54 or 60 inch deck are nice, I like the 60 better though. I can mow closer to curvy edge better. Regardless of what you get, the BX's are really nice machines to have and once you get one, you will get tractoritis BXitis :D:thumbsup:.
