LS Tractor Oil, Gas, & Air Filter Information

Anyone else have an R3039 and have issues with fuel filter. I bought the above NAPA cross referenced one, but my tractor has a plastic container that just screws off. My manual says to disconnect A line and plug, then C and then B and then take off screw...none of that is necessary as I said, this filter just screws off. Problem is, the paper filter inside, I have no idea how to get it out, nor do I even know if it will come out (the one I bought does look just like the one on the LS site with the 5 piece kit). Not sure if this makes sense or anyone cn help, but I have a $26 cartridge filter that I have no idea how to get into the tractor.

Also, anyone that has used the NAPA oil filter, it appears to be much smaller then the OEM, but fits, any issues there and di you find that it is smaller or am I getting ready for a world of hurt?

This is why I spend the extra dollars and just buy my filters from my dealer (both motorcycle and tractor). Plus, it gives me an excuse to stop by and shoot the breeze with some nice folks!

I will acknowledge that my MC dealer is 8 miles away and my LS dealer is 22 so, crossing is necessary for you folks that are longer distances from the dealer.

Help with fuel filter removal.
Suggestions for stopping fuel (gravity feed) for filter change. Best place and what to clamp?.
Surprised LS did not put in a shut off switch for my R4047.

doing a 300 hr maintenance. Followed manual but after draining a quart or two decided I needed further advice.

You can also use the smallest (4-5" long) pair of alligator vise grips to clamp off the hose and not have to remove it. May want to pad vise grip teeth with tape.

Just coming up on 50 hours on my XR4145. Went to the dealer for the filters, and he told me that they are having trouble getting the engine oil filters for the new, Tier 4 LS engine. He only had one oil filter and it was $28. That's an awful lot for a filter in my opinion. He hasn't been able to source any other filter as a replacement. The LS part number is 40006986. Looking around a little, I can't seem to find any info on that filter at all. Does anyone else have any info on these filters?

Here's a filter list I found for LS tractors. It is a 2014 chart so newer models won't be listed.

I contacted Wix Filters Product Development department and they are ordering the new LS oil filter for the Tier 4 LS engines (40006986) to do their analysis and provide a cross reference. They said it usually takes 8-10 weeks so we'll see what they come up with at that point.

I am at my 50 hour mark for a xg3032. Does anyone have part numbers for that. I tried to find a filter kit on lstractorparts page but only see the g model nothing for the xg.
