Yep, ending up getting one from a different LS shop. Had to be special ordered from some warehouse because this dealer didnt know irt existed either. Very frustrating when you have to explain to the dealership people how to order their parts and then have to give them money too.

Bigger surprise, I emailed LS corporate (1/19 and follow-up 1/30) for some clarification on interchangeability and so far, 0 response. Damn glad this is not one of mine. I wanted to buy an LS MT357 Pc but couldnt get any responses to my inquiries then either (dealers and corporate), glad they changed my mind for me.

Well, Local LS dealer closed up so now looking for alternatives again. I contacted a few LS dealers that I will be passing by or near next month, one still hasn't responded. The other 2, well! Some of these filters must be made out of gold now!

I think I'll try the WIX or NAPA alternates listed, a couple I haven't seen confirmed yet.

Please let us know if the Wix filters work for you. I have the same LS 1.9L and that WL7426 can be bought much cheaper.

The Wix WL7426 also fits my tractor, but it is a bit longer than the stock LS. Not a problem for my tractor as it doesn't hit anything. YMMV. Rock Auto currently sells them for $7.55.

They are selling that fuel filter for $8.12

Figures, as soon as I place an order after lots of searching for the best deal, someone finds a better price!

I had to do a search again just to see and for some reason Rock Auto is pretty low on the page and doesn't show the price. I went there anyway and hopefully this is just the wrong picture as they show the wrong filter.

This is a valid competitive part number and there is no replacement at this time.

You don't know for sure if that oil filter (WL7426) has the proper bypass pressure which could over time ruin your engine by letting unfiltered oil get around the element. I may be totally wrong about that though...

Also my fuel filter is 40416089. WIX also has no product offered. That is a paper element only. I reluctantly went to my dealer and he had the proper oil filter for $17 and the fuel filter for $40.
If you could cross reference the fuel filter by physical dimensions you could probably get one for $15.
That fuel filter is going for $47-$90 plus shipping every where online so for now I can handle the $40 price tag! Albeit reluctantly.
Believe me in no way do I feel that is my responsibility to subsidize the dealers business but if I see he is making an effort to be reasonable in his price offerings I will buy from him. (Plus I had no other options!) For purely selfish reasons I don't want to see him go belly up.
He had a fiberglass LS blue canopy that I have seen advertised for $550 plus the ridiculous shipping charges. He wanted $500 and it's 20 minutes from my property so I can pick it up. It seems he is trying to be competitive.

I had been getting LS filters from local dealer (RCO in Greenville) but they closed up as of a few weeks ago.
The Numbers I ordered were supplied by other users (here or on other platforms) that reported they were compatible. We shall see. As for the oil filter bypass pressure, I do not think they will be that different.

I changed my Motor oil, motor filter and Hydraulic filter in my 5020c...I did not change the hydraulic oil but buy a gallon of it cause you will lose some when you change the filter..

An FYI the oil filter is on there HARD..and there is no room to work..luckily a buddy of mine had an oil wrench with some teeth cause i couldnt get it off even punching a screwdriver thru the filter. There was barely any room to turn the filter too once the screw driver was in there..

Not only the oil filter but the hydraulic filter is an absolute bear to get off of an MT 342. The wrench that works with all of them is the Channellock 480 BigAzz. And grip the filter right where it meets the tractor. That is a heavy metal plate. Otherwise, you just crush the filter and tear it. I don't know why LS put them on so damn tight. Its ridiculous.

Haven't installed the fuel filter yet.

The Air filter set is actually what came on mine and not really aftermarket, they have Donaldson and those part numbers printed on them.

Just checked mine, same, nice! Dealer is seeing if LS will pay for the fuel filter as part of troubleshooting my regen issue, but doesn't think they will. I'll know next week, if not I'll grab the one you posted, it's $13 at the local auto store.

I have a 2018 XR4140 with the LS engine, not the Shibaura. But, yes, I'd love to see a sticky that cross references all the filters. It's been a bear finding published cross references, and my local NAPA was clueless.

Question on the "Water-in-Fuel" Sensor. How does it come off the bottom? Unscrew or just pull off?
I have spun it about 1/2 turn and can't really tell if it unscrews or not. My next move is to unplug the connector then try unscrewing it several turns.

Neither the owners manual or the service manual actually provide this information.
