Called the dealer with the Bush Hog 2010 mower. It is $5400. That's kind of on the borderline. I was thinking if it was less than $5000 the price difference for this "cheaper" mower would be worthwhile. But with the price difference being $1500 and the Rhino being a much heavier duty mower, I still can't decide.

Sorry if someone else has already mentioned the brand, but I've been impressed with cutters made by Brown. I'd never even heard of them until someone here on TBN had mentioned them. They are extremely well built and have one of the highest blade tip speeds. I was considering Bush Hog, Woods, and Land Pride, but I am now leaning towards a 7' Brown rotary cutter.

Funny you should mention that. I found out about Brown mowers here on TBN myself. I would love to have a Brown 684. I know, that's a serious tank of a 7' mower. But I am looking for a 10' mower. Besides, there's no Brown dealer around here, as far as I can tell. I had previously tried to e-mail them but got no response. Would probably have to call them directly. I would eventually like to get a 7' lift type mower to fit into a few tight spaces and for maneuverability. And I would definately consider the 484 when the time comes.

Hey, this is not the attachment forum. What are we talking about? This is the Kubota Buying/Pricing forum. We need to talk about BUYING an M7040!:D

Who wants to recover? As Stephen Wright said, "I'm addicted to placebos. I could quit, but I don't think it'll matter."

Okay, here's the latest. If I remember correctly I had said my dealer was trying to obtain an M7040HD from Lexington. Well, I went by my dealer's place today and that baby was sitting in their garage!:D It was as snug as a bug in a rug; nice and cozy in that warm garage. The hood was up and they were checking it over. Now he's just got to put the goodies on it I want. He needs to add a 3rd function FEL valve, canopy, work lights, and a 3rd rear remote. It already has two rear remotes. Problem is, he doesn't have the 3rd rear remote in stock. So he's going to have to order the kit and lever for it. So it looks like it's gonna be next week before I finally take possession.:( I guess that's okay. I have been waiting at least a year planning and researching to get to this point. I guess a few more days won't hurt.

I'm sure I'll be going by there at least twice a day saying, "Is it done yet? Is it done yet? How 'bout now? Is it done yet? Now is it done? What about now? Is it done yet?"

Chuck, sort of sorry that you have to wait to take delivery because I talked you into that 3rd rear remote. But 2 weeks to wait is nothing. When I ordered my 7520 I was told 3 weeks for prep & 1-2 weeks for delivery. 90 days later, it arrived. I was not a happy customer at that time. It was worth the wait, and I have been one happy camper.:)

One other thing to keep in mind, is when you decide that you might need certain implements, look for them used 1st. You can save a ton of money if you are able to find what you need out there. I would guess that I saved well over 10k on my 8',12' off set disk & 102" flail mower. And that is including the money spent to rebuild both sets of disks;)

Good luck with your new tractor and sure look forward to many pictures of tractor and implements.:)

Oh, don't apologize. I'm glad I'm going to get that third remote. Something always bothered me about that blank lever slot on the control console anyway. Now at least it'll look better if nothing else; even if I never touch that 3rd remote lever!:D Actually, I'm sure I'll get a batwing mower at some point in my tractor life and I would much prefer to be able to control each wing independently instead of having them "tied" in together to one remote. I've been planning and waiting on a tractor for so long that a couple of weeks ain't nothing. And when it does finally get here I probably won't believe it.

Besides, my oldest daughter is having her 5th birthday party on Saturday. My wife was extremely worried that I would've just gotten my tractor right before her planned party and I'd not only be worthless, but absent from the party. That wouldn't be good on oh so many levels.

Chuck, if we can just figure out where to get the mating plug for the electrical aux outlet behind the seat in the m7040? The dealer has not been helpful and I am at loss where to find it?

I'll see about asking my dealer today about it.

m7040, I believe if the outlet that you have has 7 prongs, it is either a std rv trailer plug [ flat pins ] or a std semi trailer plug [round pins]. You should be able to get either plug at a Napa parts store. You most likely will find that it has the round pins and is a semi type end.

Hope this helps :)

I didn't think he was talking about the 7-pin trailer coupler on the rear outside his cab. I just assumed he was referring to an aux. 12-volt outlet under the seat area inside the cab. I know many of the smaller Kubotas have such outlets in that location and I believe the M-series Kubotas do as well. It's for running electrical accessories. To be honest though, I'm not familiar with the appearance or layout of the outlet.

yes it is the three prong 12 volt aux outlet covered by a black screw on cap. It is located just behind the seat on the floor inside the cab.

Might that plug be for the air ride seat? it has a compressor unit in it I think.

   / M-Series Snag!!! #120
I have the airseat and that is hooked up separately. It is simply a aux 12 volt outlet for other 12 volt needs such as lights small air compressor etc. it is listed as such on the wiring diagrams in the shop manuals
