...I just got an American Van catalog in the mail. Their website is www.americanvan.com. They have a light called a "Golight" that has a suction mount or an optional magnetic mount and is 400,000 candlepower.

Looks nice. The beauty of this plan of magnetic attachable lights and quick attach power sockets is that I can choose any number of them I want and interchange them as needed. This one you point out might be a good candidate to add to the collection, along with some good strobe lights, rotating lights, and what have you. I could even plug in electric air pumps, etc., as needed. The more I think about this, the more I like the idea. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

With respect to wiring protection, my NH dealer uses hose like used for A/C or dehumidifier drainage in homes that could be picked up at hardware stores. He runs the wire through it to protect it from weather & wear (rubbing).
Marine accessory suppliers sell (or use to) add on 12 volt plugs that appear to be very waterproof.

Or maybe I can find the same stuff JD uses, that black stuff with wire wrapped around it. Either way, I'll find a way. This is going to be fun! Mark, I have the same disease you do!! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif This is addicting!! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I have a TN65 that has the optional four pin 25 amp power outlet on the back. You might want to call your New Holland dealer and check into one. It might make life easier if it comes with the wiring. The TN 65 parts manual lists it under DIA Kits Part #E9NN14N150AA Plug, Electrical, 4 Pin Power Outlet. It's not a lighter type but you can rig different pigtails to fit your needs.

Hi Mutt,

...Bob
I can't say if it's crazy or not, but I installed a cigarette lighter socket at the SMV bracket for the amber rotary light. It casts a lot of light on some of the hilly roads I end up on after dark.

I don't suppose you have a picture of this socket you installed? I gather it's behind the SMV and hooked to the seat? That might be where I end up installing a couple also. Have to do some more looking. Did you run a special circuit, or just splice into the gray wire?

Thanks,
Bob

I have a pic now. There was a extra wire at the rear that is hot when the key is on. All I had to do was add the connector. Did not want to put any holes in it (tractor) so I found a convenient location with enough screw length to hold the bracket on.

And here's what it looks like operating at about 3:30 am/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gifThere wasn't much snow, I just wanted to play! Only light in pic is from tractor and night sky.

Mutt,

Very cool!!!

Now I have to go out and look some more.. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I'm sure I'll find the right spot eventually. In your second picture, operating, the light at the top is your new addition? It's hard to tell from a stationary picture if this is a flashing light or if it's a front flood.. I would guess the latter?

Anyway, thanks! I'm almost there. I have the lights, the magnets hang on to the ROPS like their life depends on it (which to an extent is true /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif), and all I need is to find the right place to mount these sockets. Yours looks great!

Thanks again!!

Bob

Thanks for the compliments, yes the light on the rops is the rotating amber. I'll do a more permanent hookup as soon as you get all the details worked out/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif. I am looking at the switch panel/fuse block kit from Curtis, and looking at some additional lights. Then I'd run power lead from battery.
