Mahindra 3510 PTO not working

Then try blowing air into the port with the plug out and see what happens. Might have to energize the coil or maybe even remove the line entirely and blow into the fitting on the tractor.

Thanks I’ll try that. Would I be blowing air towards the PTO valve or the tractor case? Also instead of activating the coil could I just press in the button on the back of the coil?

And can I do this with just the key on, motor not running? What am I listening for?

The clutch is in the tractor so the port to test will be there. I don't know about any button on the valve. As far as I know, you need 12 volts down there to energize the solenoid coil. There's nobody down there to push any buttons.

Ok today I removed the line on the bottom of the PTO valve. With the key on motor not running PTO in 540 all the switches activated forced air in the fitting toward the PTO valve. I really can’t say that I heard anything. I put everything back together still no PTO. When the selector lever is in 540 you cannot turn the PTO shaft completely you can feel it catching, but when in 1000 it will rotate freely. I don’t know if that is important.

I know this post has been out for a while, but I had the same problem. I found a post where another member had sent me the solution. I had noticed when I don't use my PTO for a period of time, it won't activate.

The solution is to take a regular hammer (does not have to be a heavy one) and tap on the PTO Valve in the location as shown in RED, in the attached picture. 4-5 taps usually does it. If not, repeat, it has always got me going.

Again, I can't take the credit, if I knew the member I would credit him.
