Hmm.... I didn't think of that ranchero. I'll have to bring the old piece with me tomorrow to my tractor to compare it.
Thursday I had dropped off at a local machine shop and had them make a new bracket from scratch. The old one had a lot of stress cracks and found that the area where it cracked, it had been broken there before and the repair was poorly done. The welds didn't penetrate through the metal in the cracked area.
I had the machine shop replace the 3/8 plate that was on the original changed to 1/2 inch and added double gussets on the new onw.
Bolted up the new bracket I had made by a local machine shop. Looks good than put her to work!

Tomorrow I'm gonna have to look at the spool mount. Noticed today it was starting to leak on the return side where the mount attaches to the loader frame. Don't think its gonna be to big of a deal to repair that. Thinking its only a few bolts that might have loosened up in it.

With your new pictures I'm sure that's how it was built. I do still suggest that you get the fender bolt brackets welded onto your new frame. That frame and those four bolts are holding the complete loader load.

Tried to put her to work this week.....
But than this happened.......
null_zpsd51f0771.jpg

Dropped her off at the machine shop for them to do the weld repairs. Also ordered new bushings for where the arms met at the loader frame. I believe that is why that happened. As I was noticing the loader arms getting cocked each time I began to make a pass. They are gonna go over the loader as well and repair any stress cracks they find.

Also pulled the front skid steer attachment off to make a few modifications to it. Trimming some of the extra metal on it that was preventing me from seeing the attachment get hooked up, and loosing some of the heavy weight on it.

Honestly I'd cut my losses and buy a new loader for your tractor. 'Universal' new ones pop up at auctions for decent money pretty often.

Obviously from your pics and story that loader has been worked hard and maintained poorly. Welding on fatigued metal is pointless. The cracks will be right next to the new welds as soon as it starts to cool. Been there, done that. Your loader already has too much extra plating and farmer welds to expect it to survive beyond light duty.

That idea has crossed my mind actually. Just not much in my area for that kind of stuff.

What do you need to be loading. If it is heavy stuff go for a commercial grade Ford (yellow) perhaps. If you are going to use it like a bull dozer commercial stuff will hold up better. We picked up a 1983 JD 310B backhoe (6.25 tons) for $7200 in 2010 and we use it for a thousand different things expect working in the swamp. :)

Got the tractor back today. Turns out most of the cracks we though were stress cracks were just paint chiping. Only 2 stress cracks were found on the loader frame in the back where it mounts to the tractor. That was repaired. The loader arm was welded up and plates were welded to brace the arm.

Added 2 gussets on the loader for extra strength.
