MF 383 Tractor Loader Questions

Newbie to the forum.

Is it possible to use a MF 238 loader on a MF 383 Tractor. I know the 236 will fit, but I have a 238. The brackets I have are not for a 383 and wondering if they could be modified. I guess I need to start with will the 238 even fit? I can post photos if needed.

Second question...Why is it so hard to find information on older Massey Ferguson equipment? And parts are also hard to find. Any help on where to look would be great! Thank you for taking the time to help.

What information do you nee that you can't find?

I think the 238 was made for slightly larger tractors, but If you have both tractor and loader on site, you should be able figure out fairly quickly if it's too big. Brackets can always be modified if you have (or know someone who has) the skills and equipment to do so.

Where do you live? There are welding shops and hydraulics people who deal with a lot more extreme differences than this sounds. It can be pricey but NOT necessarily. Let us know where you are and maybe some worthwhile recommendations can be made.
