Mighty Mule Lock not working

I sprayed some WD-40 on it and gave it a good tap. Now it seems to be working fine. Thanks for the replys.

might want to consider adding some sort of lubricant to it. perhaps a silicone based one. that way it will be lubed.. but not wet and attract dust and dirt.

Talked to my brother who has the same gate and he says it came with a circuit to install that keeps the lock open longer. he thinks the lock unlocks and relocks before the gate starts to open. Interesting, I will try and install it this weekend.

Back in the day when I was a field service rep for a company that manufactured minicomputers (pre PC days) I carried a box with every circuit board that went into the computer - I called it my "Hero" kit (made me look good when I fixed their problem on the first trip). Sometimes we would just start replacing parts until the unit started working - we called it the "Shotgun" approach. Sometimes after working several hours on a difficult problem that I could not fix I would say a little prayer - Dear Lord please let me get this computer back working only as bad as it was when I first walked in!
