That's a nice truck. 👍

This was my father's KB5 the day that he sold it, about 10 years ago. It did a lot of work for him in the 50 years that he owned it. The last time I knew it was sitting in a gravel pit rotting away.
Fair to say, he got his money's worth !

Too bad we can't save 'em all, but anything close to a full restoration is a lot of hours in the shop or/and truckloads of $$$.

Especially on a truck that size.

So when are you getting your Model A? Everytime this thread is revived, I hope to see pictures of it.

A little bigger and newer than a Model A. Took several years to restore but was a fun project. Driving it is like stepping back in time.
Very nice!

You know the saying ? .... Life is What Happens, While You are Busy Making Other Plans

Been playing catch up for a while..... Transfer case on an AWD recently, and Friday was a good day. Went in early, so I could leave early.... went to my buddy's shop @ his home and finally got the front springs and bushings changed out on my 1 ton van...... I knew one spring was very obviously broken, and it turns out the other was too, just less so and less visibly....... Felt like I was driving a Limo on the way home (not really a Limo, but everything is relative ) and with the front bar tightened up (bushings), the old girl hasn't cornered that flat in a long time.

Much more to do on the old 1 ton, but that front-end work was overdue, so knocking that off, AND getting home by 8:30pm - A Great Day !

The A stays on the Dream List for now.... gotta have something there to keep the modern tech from driving me (totally 😎) crazy !

That's a great picture.

After the concrete story, I can't wait to hear about the bull (y).

Rgds, D.

Dad grew up on a farm in Western Oklahoma. He said one Sunday morning, he was trying to sleep late, but the neighbor's bull had gotten out and was roaming around between the house and barn and bellowing. He got up, and got into his little Star coupe (the one in the picture), and tried to herd the bull out away from the house.
He said he kept driving up behind it and bumping it on the hind legs. The last "bump" was a bit too hard; it knocked the bull down; and he ran up on top of the bull. The bull got up, and turned his car over on its side. I can't recall how he actually got it back up on its wheels, but he said the worst thing was the oil drained out of it, which he replaced.
Notice the windshield opens out, and there is a vent on the hood. 1930's air conditioning. He said he ran into a swarm of bees with the windshield open like that, and filled the car with a bunch of mad, stinging bees.

Even if you spend time around them, it's pretty easy to forget how powerful animals are.

Dad+Star vs. bull..... has me thinking of some still shots (overhead crane) of a Land Rover commercial gone a little wrong. Africa savannah shot - not sure if they were trying to get close to a rhino intentionally, or it got irritated for other reasons.

Final stills showed the LR driving down a dirt path, and the rhino tagging it with a hit about 3/4 of the way down the side. Easily deflected the LR 30 degrees or so off it's intended path, and it didn't seem like it was trying that hard.....

Open windshields look cool (pun semi-intended), but screens might get added later...... I took a hit from ONE bee, just above the collar of my MC jacket at 60mph..... pulled over on the shoulder to pull the stinger out while looking in the handlebar mirror... not that big a deal (no allergies), but I'd hate to take on a swarm....

Like the old Del Monte (IIRC) commercial went..... You Don't Want to Mess with Mother Nature.......

Are you thinking of this one?
I poked around a bit, but couldn't find the one I was thinking of.... it might have been a Canadian commercial only.

Similar style ad though.... Rgds, D.
