Stuff you didn't realize you need. I'll bet you end up with the 4wd. Price creep! :)

Or just re-work the seat mount on the 2210?

I did that on the YM186D. For nearly every new orchard tree I deliver water to, I need to jump off the tractor and repair the levee around the tree. Its seat was too low and too far back, it meant doing a chin-up pulling on the steering wheel just to stand up. I bought a higher Tractor Supply seat and reworked its mount. Now its easier to at least stand upright. Space is still so tight that it takes some contortions to mount/dismount - but I expect the 2210 wouldn't have that problem.

Whats making me even consider the 4WD is it presents the option of installing a loader later if I want to. I have the skid steer but it is literally 30 years old, a 1989 model, so if it quits tomorrow, putting a loader on the tractor might present a better option.

after driving a few, the 2210 is just too small for me. Feel like I'm sitting with my knees under my chin. Powershift is pretty awesome. Every tractor should have it IMO.

2310 and a 2420 are top of the list, just gotta decide how much I want to spend. Was quoted just under $8600 for a 2310 2WD with 5ft box blade and 5ft tiller and right at $10200 for a 2420 4WD with the same kit.

Wow these Yanmars are appreciating.

FIL paid about $8k for his 2310 20 years ago...

4 wheel drive, Power Shift, power steering with an Allied Loader- think the dealer included a Farm King snowblower to.

great smaller tractor, Only thing I don't like is when getting on and off (getting my feet to fit):D

No that means they are coming down in price?? If you paid $8000 20 years ago and someone pays $8600 today for the same tractor a boxblade and a tiller TWENTY YEARS later that means it is cheaper. With the inflation rate I just looked $8000 in 2000 dollars is the same as $12000 today.

How tall are you? I have a ym2000 which is slightly smaller than the 2210, just slightly. I am 6'2" tall and at my heaviest was 210 pounds and I had no trouble driving or sitting on the tractor.

The 2310 actually feels a little small as well but is a lot more tolerable than the 2210.

Yeah, i guess the dollar has taken quite a beating over that amount of time.

I have a YM2002D, roughly the same size as the YM2000. To my knowledge, my seat arrangement (height and position) are stock. I will admit for my height 6’2”, my legs are not very long 32” inseam, but I have never felt a lack of room on the tractor other than foot room. I wear a size 12, and the foot pan is full with work boots. Makes it a bit of a pain to get on the tractor with foot shuffling, but once on, its manageable space wise.
It is not a rear big deal, but I have had 2wd and 4wd compact tractors. It is my opinion that a 2wd pulls better than a 4wd in 2wd mode. Again not a big deal, just as you travel hard surfaces it is not advisable to run in 4wd. I often forget to put it back in 4wd until I have troubles with traction. I do not have any added axle ballast.

Well I bought a 2420D today. No loader but went with the 4wd so I have the option later.

Had some projects around the house the tractor will help with so after consulting with the wife unit decided to go ahead and buy it now instead of waiting.

Fredericks is going to do a fresh build for me without a loader. Should be ready next weekend.

You will love it. Be cool if you can visit and get pics during the build.

I probably could if I had time. I talked to the guy who's in charge of the refurb shop today. He's part of the Fredericks family. He seemed very knowledgeable about the tractors and what you can and can't do with them. Said his personal one has been going for 30 years.
