Mark, thanks for the tip. I'll check it out.

I just use a ruler to whack anyone who dares put their grubby fingers on my monitor.

It is cheaper, and seems to work well. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I got Dell 17" LCD monitors at work. They are fabulous. I use mine at the maximum resolution. Stuff if pretty dang small, but I have gotten used to it, and it allows for more visible Excel cells. I think we paid $650 about 5 months ago, but they are dang well worth it.

One additional benefit is the lack of electronic emissions.

Just got into office & checked...I got my 21 at 1600 x 1200 and STILL wish I could pack more on there.
Do they make a 48 inch? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I installed the Pivot Point software lastnight it allows you to rotate the image once you have rotated the monitor screen.
It takes a little getting used to, but sure makes viewing things real pleasent.
Attached is a picture of the TBN home page as it is seen under Portrait mode

Hey Mark,

Somebody parked a green tractor on your landscape picture. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Mark,

Very nice monitor. Replacing the puters this winter and will definitely go Flat Screen. Viewsonic are also some of the best out there. Luckily for me I work in IT sales so I can get the monitor at cost of what the retailers pay.

Another question. I noticed a nice new phone by the nice new monitor. What brand is that and does it have expansion to add other hand sets? When we move we will need a multi handset phone system. Panasonic seems to be the best out there right now.

Michael,
The phone is a Panasonic 2.4 GHz with duel keypad and speakerphone. It is only capable of one handset. I picked it up New in Box on eBay for $40?????? bucks.

Michael,

I have an older Panasonic 616 system. It has been very solid, but it was pre-caller ID and didn't directly support cordless phones. It was great for paging the kids when you didn't know where they were (down-side of a big house). I looked at the Panasonic system that replaced it (a few years ago), but couldn't convince myself to spend that much money. Then one day I went a little crazy in Staples and bought a Siemens 2.4 GHz system. It includes a digital answering machine in the base station, support 2 outside lines and up to 8 cordless phones. You can intercom between any of them. All phones have caller-ID and you can listen to messages on any of the phones. The phones are very small and come with a belt clip and a jack for a head-phone. They have enough range to cover most of my property. My wife has one complaint - she can't page over the speakers like she used too - so can't raise the kid when he's playing the drums. I have one complaint - when dropped on the slate floors, the slate wins. The phones are all still working, but the LCD's are getting flaky. I don't know why, but this was one of the few times I didn't buy an extended warranty.
