I have been investigating WHY my parking brake suddenly won't stay engaged on my 4110. I noticed that if the brake pedals are clipped together, the parking brake lever will not hold, but if I unclip the brake pedals and only press down on the LEFT brake pedal, the parking brake lever will hold. Clipped together the brake pedals will not go down far enough to engage the parking brake lever to get a good enough bite on the teeth(grooves). It will only hold on the 3rd "groove" not the 2nd or 1st grooves. You can see those grooves if you shine the flashlight underneath there where the parking brake lever grabs the break pedal assembly.

make sure the edges on the teeth still have square shoulders , sometimes the teeth get worn and the return springs on the brakes will make the lock jump off that is probably why the brake still will hold with one brake .

Poboy, I think you are right. The 1st and 2nd grooves (notches) are worn. I have had the tractor only since this January, with only 80 hours on it. Very dissappointed to see a piece of steel wear out that quick.

Sounds like a warranty repair to me. Maybe if everybody that has that problem will take it in under warranty repair, then Mahindra will correct it for good.

Just a thought.....

Good Luck, Les
