Merry Christmas everyone. I will have more updates on gas and electrical soon. I have just been too busy lately.

Merry Christmas to you... enjoy the updates.

Very good friends, born and raised in California moved to Florida for work and recently move to Michigan with their kids ages 2 and 4.

It has been quite an adventure... never having lived anywhere cold... first thing they had to do was go clothes shopping!

Their new Michigan neighbors are wonderful and have really made an effort to make them feel welcome... even sending over warm clothes for the kids...

Larro and Ultrarunner, thanks and I am glad you are enjoying the updates.

Ultrarunner the weather in Michigan definitely forces you to vary your wardrobe. My brother had moved to CA, and gotten rid of all their cold weather clothing. They had to buy new outerwear when they moved back to the Midwest.

Getting close!

Will you soon be firing up the furnace?

As soon as the gas meter is replaced the furnace will be turned on so that we can have the drywall finishers come in and repair all the cracks. Then I can paint, then we can move.

Any suggestions for painting? Spring for a sprayer or just roll it on?

Not a paint expert. I can sort of recognize a good paint job when I see one, done by others.

There is a thread about paint sprayers. IIRC having a good sprayer makes all the difference, and the typical hand-held airless ones aren't that consistent in quality.
