Mx5100HST OR DK50HST OR 5035 MAHINDRA?

I will not respond to aggressive posts.

There wasn't anything aggressive, and there's no need to assume someone is being aggressive when they ask a direct question.

You posted something interesting, but without enough details for anybody to make a useful interpretation...he just asked for those details.

If you don't want to give specifics, there's no need to bother posting stuff like that, because it simply isn't helpful to anybody. Somebody could say "I never run out of PTO horsepower", and leave it at that, but maybe they don't have any tractors listed in their profile, so nobody will know they have a big machine with 100hp at the PTO....wouldn't be really helpful, would it? That's essentially what you did....no details at all. How can that help the OP answer his question?

Heheheh, and they may never use the PTO at all. "My box blade NEVER taxes my PTO power! :cool2:" :D

Really? Doing what, and with what tractor, implement, implement size & tractor HP? I have never once run out of PTO power... sheared plenty of shear pins, broke a PTO shaft... nearly buried an auger with my previous CK20 because I shot the auger down too fast but almost didn't have the 3pt lift strength to get it back up. If you're running out of PTO power that often, I would surmise that you're either over-sizing your implements, or you haven't learned how to handle them properly.

I'm not sure why Tom does, but I run out of PTO power when using my stumpgrinder if I take an aggressive bite. This is just an example to give you an idea of when it can happen. Also, when I'm feeding my chipper a good sized piece of hardwood say 5" or so, and I have the hydro feed set to high I can bog down and even stall the tractor. Aside from those two things though, I usually run out of traction first. I don't usually run out of traction when using the stumpgrinder and chipper.....for obvious reasons :)

Thanks for your explanation. I guess it comes down to the implements I have and/or have used...

9" 3pt auger (on both my little Kioti and my LS)
72" B'hog (LS)
Wallenstein BX42 Chipper (LS)
60 Rototiller (LS)

I'm sure that all of those implements are undersized for the HP rating of my LS. I would like a bigger Tiller, but just found this one for a steal on CL so I can't complain. Plus, it does the job. Never needed a larger than 9" auger. Would like a 7 or 8 ft B'Hog, but that 6' is what I had access to. I got the BX42 (4") chipper because anything bigger than that, is firewood for us. Sure I'd have liked to go bigger on that, but it wasn't worth the extra money for me.

I would like to get a stump grinder, sooner than later. Maybe I'll bog it down then? Now, I can imagine that if I still had my CK20, with only like 16 PTO HP, I could run into this more often. But, we're talking a LOT more HP stepping up into the 30's or low 40's. I have to wonder, what size implements could you handle with a 42.5 pto/hp that you couldn't handle with 38? Like someone already mentioned, I would think it would have more to do with the overall tractor size/weight than anything else at that point.

Byrd57...

Have you had seat time on any of these tractors? I was just thinking, you're really comparing 3 very different tractors. One of them (Mah 5035) is a heavy brute with the best overall specs of all 3. It weighs 1700-2000 lbs more than the other 2 tractors. It has all the same features as the Kioti. It's probably priced the highest of the three at around $30k. Then there's the Kioti, it has solid loader lift, less breakout force than the Mahindra, and slightly less than the MX5100 ... but it's full of features. It weighs around 5130 with the loader. I think it would be priced the lowest of the three; my dealer quoted me $24,600. Then there's the MX5100. It has the lowest lift specs of all three and only bests the Kioti in a couple HP. It's a more basic tractor, with far less features than the other 2. I remember when I sat on one, I liked the open-ness of the operators area, but I really didn't like that it had a basic, non-sliding seat... no tilt wheel... and weird locations for the PTO lever, loader joystick, joystick lock, and parking brake release. Those are subjective attributes, but for me, I wasn't impressed. Once you get used to adjustable seats & tilt wheel/columns, you really notice how much it sucks to NOT have them. The MX platform felt uncomfortable to me because of that. It also weighs the least of the three (something like 4900lbs) and still costs in between the other two (I was quoted around $27,000).

So, 3 different tractors, some comparable features are more factual, some more personal/subjective... still 3 good choices though.

If money wasn't a factor for me, and I was doing 90% loader work... my choice would be the 5035. If I was doing 90% B'hogging & Mowing, then I'd have to choose between the Kioti & the MX because their weight/size is similar (but I'd still be unhappy with the operator's area comfort of the MX)... If I was doing all around work (and price was factored in), I'd go with the Kioti (if I was choosing between these 3 choices).

Byrd... what personal observations have you made between the 3 choices that are steering you in any particular direction? And if I may... to give the Kubota a more fair advantage, have you considered looking at the L4740/5040/5240/5740 ? They are priced more like the Mahindra 5035, and are feature packed like the Mahindra & Kioti. The MX is more of a basic line and not a direct comparison to the other 2 you chose. The ones I mentioned also have bigger engine options to give you even more HP at the engine & PTO than the others.

I will make it easy for you.... If you get the Kioti, then you can be a member of the "pack".. and that has got to be worth something:D

Just kidding, buy which ever one makes you the happiest. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the choices.

The kioti has 5.6 % interest, the tractor was around 25,000 after 5 years total was over 29000. I can be in the mx for around 27500. I still have my L3200, witch I put a lot of money down on it. It's is for sale. But I will be finacing every penny of the new tractor.
I drove a dk50hst it had a cab. My dealer would have to get one in. I'm not wild about buying something that I haven't really test drove.
I think the mahindra is too much tractor for me. I'm not going to upgrade my Trailor.

You bring up price so I have to ask... have you considered LS by chance? You might still be able to get a leftover R4047 HST. I paid around $21,760 for mine. It's feature packed, built solid, 47/38 HP, very strong loader... LS is building a very solid reputation and customer base. Might be worth adding to your list if u have a dealer near you.
