Eddie, how long does it take for gate to open. The mighty mules tend to go real slow. Painstaking slow. Also, what brand unit is it?
Eddie, I put my front gate up and put the outside panel behind the posted sign on the gate post. No one can see it. Only friends with codes. And they have to get out of the auto. I purchased but did not install the auto opener on the inside. I store hay to one side of the gate and I have to go by there to get the hay. My tractor would be opening the gate too many times.
I have another gate to my pasture. It is great. I don't have to get off the tractor to put out hay. It has a lock on it, that keeps the animals from pushing it open, It unlocks with the auto gate. I plan on putting up another one later for a gate to the lake.
Also with the name Ed, I have horses and kids call me Mr. Ed.
i think you’re referring to a bump gate. A ranch i worked at years ago had that...and painted grates on ground to discourage critter traffic. It worked great.I don't have a pic but my Uncle years ago had a gate that hung low at the latch end, high at the hinge end. Had a push bar latch activator in the middle of the gate. Linkage connected it to the latch mechanism. Drive up to the gate and bump it with the tractor and it unlatched and swung open. Drive thru. Gravity swung the gate shut and the latch caught it. Worked from either direction. Very, very cool setup for haying his cattle.

those look almost too bright. Hope they dont blind you driving up.The other two lights for the new columns arrived today. It only took a few minutes to install them, and I'm very happy with the results. These are true LED lights with the LED's built into the roof of the light.

It starts out pretty fast, but just when there is almost enough room to get past it, it slows down to a crawl. I can push the button in my truck to open the gate when I'm still out in the street, so it's usually open, or almost open by the time I get to it. But I do have to wait a couple seconds when I leave.
It's called the E8 and it's sold through JSJ Protech here in the US. If you look on Youtube, look for E8 openers. I found a few videos in Australia, but not much here in the US.
